You say you're focusing on the long term sustainability of the business and yet don't know the difference between turnover and profit mate. What changes after 5-10 years like? You make no dosh out the extended fanbase for that period and then how does that then all of a sudden start yielding a return? Oh and I wasn't banging on about shirt sales, you brought them up mate, I was merely contextualising the numbers you were quoting.

Pipe down mate, he understands basic accounting, he's just talking about something that you're unable or unwilling to recognize

...is this you still in 'neutral' mode?

PMSL.

Bill's played a blinder here. He's managed to make himself look good to the outside world by not selling a player so he'll be able to get away with spending absolutely no money.
I don't think so. I think Martinez gave him no choice and threatened to resign if he sold Stones. Now Martinez is kissing Bill's ass to improve their relationship. Whether it will work or not I think will depend on our performances this season but I think it definitely explains why we haven't spent any money.

Martinez looks haunted....thinks he's took his boss on over this and understands now how Everton works and what he's in for.

He won the battle but I doubt he will win the war. The net spend he's being given is probably the board's answer. I wouldn't be surprised if they let him fail on the pitch and bring in Moyes in January and allow him to spend the money.

Not selling Stones and as a result not being able to buy players puts a lot of pressure on the board. They aren't going to like that.

I'm someone who has had issues with Martinez but I have to say I respect a manager that doesn't cave into the board.

I don't know why this thread is still going tbh, people had the chance to join the Blue Union marches. They didn't, they clapped Bill instead. The war was lost, we have the club we deserve.

It's alright Karen Brady says we're lucky to have Bill.

Mad her name turning up on watchedtoffees tweets, wasn't it.
Weird when Reading defaulted on the Vibrac loan and Vibrac tried to direct control of Reading by bringing back a consortium involving Chris Samuelson. Odd that both our board and Vibrac are good friends of his.
