Check the book of Carousel. And it gets even worse for you.
No, I've checked the book "Penguin Modern Playwrights –Peter Terson" which is the one containing the quote we're talking about. Please stay on topic mate.

You think Bill is a 'Liverpool Fan' because a ghost written George Best(him of the perfect reputation') tells you so.
No, George Best was quoting from "Penguin Modern Playwrights –Peter Terson" which was helpfully explained above.

Zigger Zagger is a play about football supporting schoolkids, performed mostly by children and it would be quite normal for a young actor to ask why a popular 'football anthem' was not included.
All very nice but Peter Terson in the book "Penguin Modern Playwrights" (linked and shown above) labels Kenwright as an "avid Liverpool fan"...await your rational explanation of that.

When I was a kid I used to go to Everton one week and Liverpool(sometimes) on the alternative week. It doesn't make me a 'Liverpool fan'...it makes me a football fan. Come to think of it, I used to go to Tranmere on a Friday night as well. But you wouldn't remember Friday night football at Prenton Park, would you, only being a youngster. I've been to at leasat half of the League grounds in the UK, watching teams other than Everton, so does that make me a Barnsley fan, a Chesterfield fan, a Spurs fan? Wind in your trunk.
Cool story

Cool story

So you think Bill Kenwright is 'an avid Liverpool fan' ? Yes or No ?

I honestly don't have enough knowings of the dealings to be honest so i couldn't say for certain mate.

Id guess what we spent on cleverly and Deulofeu was, for what its worth the actual money we probably had to spend on players without lending or sales.

We then spent, 9.5 + 4.5 - from reports. so thats £15million. I dont know how much the money on the loan was for, dont think thats public knowledge - like you say its speculated at £20mish.

My main problem is, we are still basically relying on loans to pay loans, to buy players (without selling am sure most of us can now agree on). I dont know where the money went - however it doesnt surprise me that we didnt get linked with more players really until the loan documents got submitted to companies house on the 10th of August.

Otherwise known as borrowing from Peter to pay Paul?

Until you get lucky with a young lad called John, an asset that you can truly carpet bag and bootstrap your rotten business with for a few years until you have to knock on Peter or Paul's door again.

Peter Terson thought he was in the sixties.

Personally I think he's a chancer who is not the massive Evertonian his pr puts out nowadays. Quite likely in his past to have proclaimed allegiance to LFC if he thought it was to his benefit, and the George Best quote about him liking the money is so unnecessary it's exceptionally telling. Could well explain why he's hanging on without investing looking for the big offer before selling, and the carpetbagging company he keeps in his "friends".

@the esk

Spot on. There is no defense to the question raised re capital.

There is also no defense to taking loan after loan out without using these loans to increase the value of assets (not the players), namely non current assts such as stadia, training ground. There is also no defense without looking at improving the cash flow coming into the business without taking loans out, namely commercial operations.

Put simply, I dont think anyone would care about these loans if they were being used to move the club on; instead we just tred water. Its like constantly remortgaging and never paying the damn thing off.

We need more income in; the board are failing in this.
We need to move or upgrade stadium; the board are failing in this.
We need to reduce debt; the board are failing in this.

In summary, the board are failing. Watched Toffee is doing a superb job in highlighting these shortcomings to a number of individuals.

Spot-on.

And it should be duly noted they're HIS 'friends' - NOT ours.

This is now beyond the pale, this is the problem with forums people use the flimsiest piece of evidence ,hearsay and sometimes not even hearsay and the gullible believe it.

It's puerile with the sole intention of being vindictive.

It also dilutes the simple message that Bill and Co are not the best possible owners of the club and they should seek to move it on, as that's the best outcome for the future of EFC.

People who troll with the "Bill's a kopite" style nonsense add nothing to the cause that they purport to have as their prime aim. They just come across as rather hateful and bitter individuals.

Heard it all now!
Did you read the post?

I did not accuse Kenwright of being a Kopite, I was saying that the accusation of being a Kopite requires a full, well-reasoned argument, rather than the nasty asides that it normally is handled with.

I also made the point that even if it were true (generally unlikely in my opinion) it's immaterial to the real problem - the lack of capital and the lack of a clear plan to address that.

Bill a RS? lollollollollollollollol

I'm no fan of his by any means, but a red? I'd be embarrassed if I genuinely thought that.

Only a kopite would even think that, with the amount of mistakes the board have made over the years there are plenty of things we can say about them that we know for sure are true, when people start coming out with stuff like that all they are doing is discrediting themselves.

Definitely.. he can be called a lot of things but to call him a kopite is something else
