My only question about this is - why wasn't this done 10 years ago?

The club has never been for sale - and we can only speculate now that Bill's health is in question, there has been a rethink.
Yep, to me this seems like the club has never been for sale and now it finally is. If that tweet is true then it seems like the club want to find a buyer quickly. I imagine the TV deal and increased interest/marketing potential in the US is why we're looking for a buyer there.

I think it's always been for sale but maybe now they are actively marketing a sale.

Just in my linited experience around football mandates are thrown about more than we'd think . That doesn't mean i don't think the chairman is trying to realise his assets just that it doesn't mean things are imminent .

Ain't that great as far as I understand either mate.

Can only think of Villa and the RS other than United and it's not been great.

I just want my wish of mental Sheikh coming in and lobbing money without giving a hoot to come true.

Guess it depends on how they are judged. Loaded the club with debt, but won tons, and have exploited their "brand", ugh, to biblical proportions.

But a bloke lobbing oil money around would be ace!

It's all I've ever wanted.

All them people banging on about 'OOOH Everton are a proper club run properly and all the history'. Yeah great, we're so behind the times it is unreal.

I want some loaded mad man buying Messi for £200m. For Everton.

The difference between us and say City getting rich, would be we would do it right. Not lose our soul and not become total weapons.

Maybe. They just seem a little more shrewd than the others.

If, and it is a big if, a US owner(s) came in with a plan to exploit/sell Everton into the US sporting psyche, which has been a bugbear of mine for ages, I can see a plan. A sellable, (to the board), plan.

Cos that is the way. We have a USP over there, so maybe it will take a Merican to sweat it. Or an Englishman who gets it.
