In fairness, the Independent reckon the staff got 15minutes notice!!!
If the reports are true, then it would appear that is what he's trying to do. Seems Findel has a shed load of debt and a securitisation deal on it's largest company which is greeting cards and stuff with the Unique Selling Point that they give credit accounts?
If it happens, you're right MA would have control of the online (at least) sales of merchandise.
Had a look on an investors website an hour or so back, and the investors are hoping that they can stick together and fend it off but seem to be relying on 2 main shareholders to come to the rescue. Think if you google investors chronicle findel you'll get to thr same page. This may have changed.
:coffee:

I suspect his little loan to Rangers and a crony sitting on the Rangers board(was it the same guy?) may have been a similar play by Ashley, who is basically your old fashioned maverick entrepeneur!

I am pretty sure there will be a release clause brought about by a change of ownership to Kitbag that Everton can invoke.

There would be had I negotiated the contract! Certainly I would be amazed if Umbro did not have such a clause as supplier.

Don't know to be honest and tend not to get involved unless I've had a look. Gave you the wrong google co-ordinates for the forum I was looking at it's

Well, Findel have been trying to sell Kitbag for a while, but the potential purchaser has not been able to raise the money....this would account for Ashley trying to acquire Kitbag on the cheap, by putting Kitbags parent company in to administration.
So, the question may soon be asked....would Everton be better outsourcing again, or are we now capable of merchandising in house. The former for me....

Is that workable with a plc with constant changes in ownership, or would it only work if Kitbag were spun out of Findel?

It would certainly relate to Kitbag being spun out of Findel but also if someone took a controlling interest in Findel whilst Findel owned Kitbag.

Bow to your superior knowledge on this, if such a clause were inserted. Personally, if negotiating for Kitbag,(who had the whip hand at that time) I would have gone for assignment rights.
Anyway, as @Steve Wigan asks do you think EFC be better outsourcing again or taking it in-house?
Bear in mind that whichever way you go you are possibly going to end up dealing with MA.

Three assumptions to be made, (i) there's sufficient working capital to properly fund merchandising (ii) the kit suppliers provide the necessary support and commitment, and (iii) the right personel are recruited to run the merchandising operation.

In the absence of any of the above I would stick to the outsourcing model.

Agree. Point 1, very much doubt it, point 2 possible, point 3 not so easy.
I would add that you would also have to get logistical support in for on-line sales.
Anyone know if @roydo is busy.:)

Got a random message saying we are possibly being taken over by a Saudi consortium. Deal 2 thirds done due diligence passed . IF complete will be finalised by 28th Feb .

I'll believe it when I see it but thought I'd post it anyway .
