Saw that before, the things that gets me is that they found no evidence. That's an absolute statement that appears to be incorrect.

There is certainly not proof that he was but there is a lot of evidence that he was somehow "involved" with the club.

When I heard Matheson, I wondered what evidence he had seen in order to have made those claims. I wonder if he has evidence which is not in the public domain. My concern is that if he hasn't got anything more than what is currently considered to be evidence and has been spoken widely about, then there's little prospect of substantiating the claims further.

If the PL say to the FA that they have investigated these claims and found nothing, I doubt the FA will instigate further investigations unless they become aware of fresh evidence.

I've not seen anything of this in all honesty, only heard about it today really. Not read anything or seen anything, all I know is that an MP asked questions about Greens possible involvement in EFC. Did he give solid evidence of it, or was it a script from Watched Toffees timeline, loads of questions who's answer can be assumed?

If its true, there's an awful lot of questions to answer, and it could get in the way of a lot of goings on at club.

It's always been a strange one, the only journalist I remember questioning Philip Green's involvement at Everton was the former head of BBC Sport Mihar Bose years ago when Wyness was sacked.

Which contained The quote from Green "I helped him (Kenwright) get Everton"

It also said that Green had approval on buying & selling players and over Moyes' contract. It should be remembered that Green was happy to give quotes to Bose, the piece wasn't refuted nor retracted.

The Evening Standard also said he the "Powerbroker" at Everton a good while ago iirc.

Looking at that Paul Brown tweet again it appears that the premier league would have been too late anyway. It implies that they looked into the current situation after Moshiri had bought shares when it was always alleged that Greens involvement related to Earls shares.

What is the difference between being a trusted adviser to, lets say Bill, because of a friendship and his business experience, and a "Shadow director"?

Like, if I had the cash or inclination to start a business, I would be right on the phone to @The Esk for some help, and I would continue to do so until I either didnt need to, or he told me to shut up. If he was happy to help me out with a few bob to buy a new factory or something, would that be wrong. (It would certainly be stupid if he did mind).

Not defending anyone, just honestly unsure of the issue really.

If we assume that Matheson's allegation is accurate then what exactly do people believe happened?
Could it simply mean Green invested anonymously in EFC expecting to profit financially and demanded a certain level of oversight with his investment or do you think it more sinister?
Is there really that much difference with the Moshiri investment which is facilitated through an opaque off shore vehicle and conducted from one of Usmanov's offices in London?

Irks me big time the way people refer to him as "Bill" like he`s your lovely neighbour or favourite Uncle
The man has lied to us for years just so he could remain on his throne
"Kenwright" is probably the kindest way I`d refer to him as

I doubt theres anything wrong with seeking advice/guidance from a " trusted friend",but would you allow that person to tell you what to produce in the factory or who to employ? Would you feel the need to hide or deny that the friend was in anyway connected?
I can't say anything was underhand or illegal I just find the whole denial line a bit iffy
