I'm not as filled with wrath as some over this board, because where we have progressed is where I feel its most important to progress, on the field, but the fact remains, we need change to progress further..

I like the previously mentioned idea of a series of these planes, one each week or month or whatever, each with a failure of the board dragged behind it. Spell it out to the media, so all they have to do is not forget the previous planes that have gone to give them the framework of the complete story of the board and its fans frustrations.

3 failed moves, etc, leave the net spend since he joined to last as that's what the media assume is the only issue, would maybe after 4 or 5 planes, start to hit home actually those supporters may not just be annoyed they didn't get Abramovich style money and start lavishing funds, but actually have genuine concerns about the running of the club...

Just listening to the guardian football podcast, our situation dismissed by some flippant French journo and barry glendening (who I usually rate) based on soton performance. what strikes me looking outside in is we have some very articulate people like @the esk challenging the media perception that we are 'well run - plucky everton'. However, what I think the pressure groups in general need to keep pressing home with the media is what do we as a fan Base, actually want? Most media are quite sniffy that we shouldn't expect a sugar daddy to rock up. Transparency, someone with an actual credible stadium plan, business acumen to expand our off pitch commercial performance, is our message and all we want. We don't need to be a city, Chelsea, psg, to achieve this, we are pretty patient fans we just need communication and honesty. As esk has said take the personal aspect out. If bill or anyone for that matter can't achieve this, they should take steps to get someone in to help or let someone else take charge. Simple as.

To get all Evertonians on board, you need a simple, positive message. We need investment, personally I don't really care whether that involves a full sale of the club or a dilution of the current board.

The current board have been unable, or unwilling to find new investment. That needs to change.

But our board like to keep their hands warm by sitting on them.

Michael Ball: Everton board must be more transparent to build unity with fans

Former Everton defender on supporter unrest, that Southampton win and the visit of Manchester City

I don't like the idea of Everton fans arranging for planes to fly over a ground before games.

It’s embarrassing and the sort of thing you normally associate with supporters of clubs like Newcastle or Liverpool.

So watching it happen before our win over Southampton was a bit disappointing, but I’m not going to slate the fans who were behind it.

The fact is they are frustrated because they want transparency from the club’s board and they haven’t really had it.

These supporters have lots of questions and they want to know more about things like why the club hasn’t successfully moved to a new ground, the King’s Dock for example, or about investment.

Everton’s fans have been patient for a long, long time and still practically fill Goodison for most home games while giving us amazing away support.

I think they deserve a bit more openness and transparency from the board, and even if they don’t like the truth of the financial landscape at the club at least they would have answers.

If the board came out and let everyone know what their long-term plan to help Everton become more successful is it would really clear the air.

Not knowing, leaving fans in the dark, will only lead to more questions and more negativity like what we’ve witnessed in recent months.

Further transparency from Everton's board would help unite fans
I believe the club are working hard behind the scenes but they need to communicate that better with the supporters because at the end of the day the fans ARE Everton football club.

At Newcastle, even Mike Ashley showed that by popping your head above the parapet for a change and giving an interview, as he did in May, can at least harness a bit of positivity from disillusioned fans just by explaining your vision for the club.

There is no better club than Everton when the club and fans are pulling in the right direction. I’d like to see the Blues recognise that by being up front and facing their critics.

The people's club.

He says he won't knock the fans behind but in the sentence before that called the protest embarrassing and something you'd expect from Newcastle or Liverpool? That's knocking them you divvy.

They're clearly determined to get all the "that's kopite behaviour" fans to rally to them. Pray to God that people don't fall for this crap, the facts are there in black and white.

They will get away with it. People are way too sensitive - being compared with two clubs with passionate fan bases who demand success is not a bad thing. What we think of them, half the country think f us too because of the city we're based in
