I can see the arguments from both sides to be honest
Yes kenwright has presided over some absolute [Poor language removed], ie kings dock, Kirkby being the worst two, closely followed by the blatant lying which he has admitted to over the fortress sports fund
However at the same time I am glad he's never just sold up to the first bloke who flashed the cash and landed us in the type of situation that Portsmouth, Newcastle, hull, Cardiff, Blackburn etc have ended up in
We could do a lot worse
Don't understand the people who have a go for him not putting his own money in though, why should he?
Imagine if you owned a business would you just lump in millions of your money that you would likely never see again? Would you bollocks

The likes of Hull and Cardiff were about to go bust before their respective owners bought them. Although not a fan of the Cardiff fella, at least he has spent money developing the new stadium they have by increasing the capacity and corporate facilities.

Allam has invested quite a bit of money into Hull and compared to before he bought them they have come on leaps and bounds from a commercial point of view.

Ashley is a tyrant in the way he goes about things, but is very successful in business to say the least. He has wiped out Newcastle's debts with a personal loan interest free saving them 8 million a year in interest payments. Plus, he has stood by his word and invested money into the squad this summer with more to come.

Bill and the rest of his lot will sell to the first person who meets the asking price.

Can I ask some financial definitions here because when people talk about 'investment' they seem to be talking about different things...

1) Money coming in from TV, commercial revenues, profit on player sales (?) is classed as income, right?
2) Investment which changes value over time and is relatively easy to convert into cash is classed as working capital?
3) Investment into static holdings, such as a new ground or stand, is classed as capital?

So say if a benefactor came along and did what @the esk is talking about he or she would be adding to the capital worth of the club? But if we spent that on players, we would be converting static capital into working capital?

And what about money that might be left over from income (say, increase in TV revenues or player sales profits)? Can that not be converted into capital of either kind? (For example, if we put the money from the increase in TV revenue one year or selling all of our young players into upgrading Goodison?)

And what implications, if any, do those kind of financial or accounting diversions have on our ultimate worth?

Confused of Austria

The main problem being he hasn't even got it to put in anyway, nor a business plan in which to get any money into the club from elsewhere.
