Maybe read back a bit Joey before jumping in all defensive.

The point clearly is people have been claiming Everton have or are falling behind other teams in many ways, this biggest and longest grumble being transfers. Yet even our closets rival who had a huge cash windfall recently haven't been able to beat our record transfer fee.

Yes because the difference between £26m & £28m is massive isn't it.

Seriously what's the point

But, the gap will widen as they will be in a new stadium soon to increase the commercial income which already dwarfs ours.

Commercial income which was the same as ours back only 14 years ago.

It's about 2-3 years off before they move in isn't it? Maybe we could get on the Champions league gravy train before then? Or bought out? Or even be building our own new stadium?

..and in doing so avoid the actual point I was making about the intangible assets.

It's your MO, you've been doing it for a decade, I'll leave it there is only one asset leftate. Cheers ;)

Here was me thinking you had something up your sleeve and was going to us all of the assets the board has been keeping for when we have rainy day.

But like me you are stuck for an answer. Wonder why you cant answer?

Because there is just one asset as far as i can see left and thats the ground. But that has charges against it.

I suppose you can lead a horse to water but you a cannot make it drink.

Just this summer

Cech
Alderweild
Schweinstiger
Let's throw in Ayew from Swansea on a free as a bit of a bonus
except cech and schweinstger would have never came here. ayew and alderweid maybe, ayew got a huge signing bonus and rather large wages i believe

BT haven't sold off all their assets then ? I was a bit concerned as a BT shareholder. Everton have though.

Have they?
The only assets they've sold are the Bellefield land and the patch of grass that now houses Finch Farm.

So whats left?

Nice avoidance of the point

You seem to be nicely avoiding the fact that EFC have sold the Bellefield, Finch Farm, Netherton and Eileen Craven sites. That was all their fixed assets apart from Goodison which is mortgaged to the hilt.

I don't see the point youre trying to make quoting those random transfers. Please explain. Cech cost Arsenal £10 million and they've sold or released a few players...so their net spend so far isn't much, but they may of course swoop before the deadline. Out of the top four or five in the Prem, not many are consistently big net spenders. Spurs spent Bale money, Villa have been spending Bentecke money, even the RS, who like to boast how much they spend, balance it largely with Torres, Carrol, Suarez and Sterling income. Its all about buying and selling at the right price, and if you can put a top quality team on the field with a low net spend, surely thats good business.Even United held back a long time before spending the Ronaldo money.
