If people focussed more of their concern into the actual problem we have, instead of looking to pick holes in what the BU did wrong then I could understand their points.

Instead they just snipe at the BU for the release of the content, and look to pick holes in how many people attended marches.

It's so gay and pathetic and reeks of "I have nothing constructive to add so I will just bitch about someone who wanted to try and make a difference".

Not really, I think BU fundamentally fked up, I think the board fundamentally f.ked up and I think both still are.
Is that not worth comment or is it only anti board that is relevent? Should we encourage more marches followed by another pointless meeting with no objective to it other than to find some more information that we already knew that we can slate the board with?
How is that constructive or in any way going to help?

Yes they did fk up in some peoples view, however because of the BU, more people were aware of what was going on than previously, if they actually wanted to know that is. The fact that a lot of people took offence to what was released beggars belief.

I really wish people would stop blathering on about that meeting, it happened, Bill was outed as a phoney, the BU should have been more careful with the release of the material, let's all move on!

However, the board are the constant problem and are killing EFC slowly, not the BU.

Hear Hear, when you strip away the BU froth and bile there are no answers from those who choose to support the current owners and stagnation.

Bloody hell do you not see the irony in that post? That exact statement (minus the gay bit - live and let live and all that) is all that the Blue Union are/were about. They had nothing constructive to say or shout about. No alternative to Kenwright. No "smoking gun" exposing any wrongdoing. No secret formula for all of a sudden improving the commercial deals. Nothing.

As a team, as a club we are in a better state now than we were before Kenwright took over. I fail to see how anyone can disagree with that. We've got a better team and are doing okay at the right end of a very competitive deal. Yes the debt has gone up but so too has the TV money. The club had a rotten infrastructure when Kenwright took over and we're now four years into the worst recession seen for a hundred years.

So what have the Blue Union established? They had a rambling chat with Bill and guess what exposed a 67 year old theatre producer for sounding like a......67 year old theatre producer.

I'd love to see a new owner - with half decent credentials - come in any put money into the club. That's what all fans want and Kenwright has said so himself. If the Blue Union had even played it half right they could have been holding the board to task in a constructive sense instead of the current set-up.

This is the problem in a nutshell. I'm not supporting stagnation by criticising the Blue Union or defending Kenwright.

What's the alternative to the current board? There is no evidence of any interested parties full stop. Nobody came in when Johnson wanted to sell and I believe had any serious party been interested and put off by Kenwright's asking price (as is so often said on here) then we'd have heard about it.

Sorry Dell Boy you're getting this all wrong.

We're in a better position because of one man and he's not a theatre producer.

We're still financially well behind our rivals in every area, we probably have less fixed assets and we have a larger debt. Which is a clear worry.

We owned Bellfield sold it and got finch farm, we didn't even own that. So there's one assets down already.

We're that reliant on guaranteed cash we have signed up to deals with the likes of kitbag and that Sodexo just to guarantee cash for the banks.

Not to sure you have heard about a little document we force them to sign before negotiating....

The 'Blue Union' deflection ploy. 13 years of disastrous management and all the people who are "honestly not a supporter of Kenwright..." have to offer is the bogeymen of the BU and KEIOC to cover the tracks of our majority owners.

Hopeless.

Sorry lads, this debate was won long ago. Your side lost.

I always imagined that two failed ground moves, not a penny invested and 5.6m net in the 12 richest years of football would be all the 'smoking gun' any Evertonian of substance needed.

I think the BU where thinking along these lines too. I have to admit I was very, very wrong.

We talk about the meeting because that was the BU. And a couple of marches. That is it.
BU encompassed in a couple of hours. What else have they done or will they do other than that meeting?
It should of been more, they should of been significant, a voice that the board had to listen to, but they sold out for a few soundbites and now we have no chance of more, of anyone actually doing things differently in the future.
I'm sorry that talk of the BU annoys you in a thread containing Kenwright/the BU in the title but here seems like a relevent place to put it. I am also sorry that just because you hate the board that you think its irrelevent what they did.
I want the board out if the replacement is better.. which is why the BU p***d me off so much, because they ensured that decision wouldn't be influenced by the fans, instead taking a few cheap shots at the chairman when they had the chance to do something important.
They have pretty much ensured by their actions that no future group would be met with anything like the same level of openness, and have made sure there would be no further meetings with the club and the BU, and that from now on it will be even harder to get an interview with someone further up the food chain than the PR rep.
If this is something you think should be dismissed then good for you, for me it annoys me and I don't see the club being sold anytime soon, and I doubt Bill knows how annoyed the fans are.... you see there is noone there to tell him.
