He's just had hard luck for 14 years. People let him down on investing (they get in touch and lead him up the garden path, then dont commit), and the stadium situation would have been sorted if only the bureaucrats had ditched the regional plan for the whole of the north west of England for Everton and Tesco's benefit.

I think he'll sort one or both of those problems in the next 14 years, defo.

Case in point

Dave won't give Kenwright an inch, where as others will fight to defend him

Neither is the best option in my opinion

But then again, I'm a centre left agnostic who likes buying the Independant, so maybe I'm the wrong guy to ask?

It's very hard to be balanced on this issue I feel, when a balanced view is I think what is needed

There's very much two schools of thought and most people have picked a side and have no compulsion to take what other people are saying on board, regardless of what they say

Having a balanced view doesn't progress things, unfortunately. The human race is just not that evolved yet, tribalism is still very much a thing. Who shouts the loudest (and appears most convincing) will win the next stage. At the moment Kenwright's spiel is still just about winning, but if he buggers up the summer it will finally wear thin, and the detractors will win. Who comes next is a game of luck...

You're right...a balanced viewpoint is not permitted by the extreme Anti BK platoon, and so proper debate hardly has a chance, but then this is what happens when supporters discuss something that they are passionate about. The rule seems to be 'if youre not with us, you're against us, and are therefore a prime target for abuse and well say what we like about you, whether we know it to be true or not. I'm sure Davek is a pleasant, amusing guy, but maybe a forum isn't the place place to talk with him...maybe it would be easier over a pint. I'm sometimes available if anyone is near Wigan or the East Lancs...although I do work about 75 hours a week!

Thats fair comment...just interested in what you would expect to happen if 'the detractors win'. Can you really see a situation arising were the boards position is untenable...and were would the next 'guardian' come from ?

I admire @davek for being passionate and sticking to his convictions

I just wish he was a bit more balanced, as do I wish his detractors were also so

I honestly believe there's a compromise on this issue somewhere. What it is, I have no idea, but I'm sure there is one

Of course, if the summer window is as bad as the January window was. All eyes are on net spend, who we bring in and who we ship out.

The January window was an eye-opener for a lot of pro-Bill and fence-sitters. The official word is that Martinez decided how the window was played, and we trust him on that (tho' the anti-Bill brigade insist Martinez is lying).

But Martinez will 100% want to spend money in the summer, so this is what we're all waiting for, as obviously the Martinez game requires better players than what we already have.

no clue, mate.

75% have spoken, Bill needs to go. It's for the best.

We'll be starting the poll anew after the summer window. This will give us a better idea where the GOT voice stands.

14 years the chancer has had to build a legacy

Posts like this dominate the thread, but add nothing of value.

14 years ago we were regular relegation candidates. Now we're regular top 7.

Hmm, you're old, and you work 75 hours a week. You're Bill, aren't you?

Just kidding :P
