Because I could have acted like a child and said:
QPR, Blackburn, Cardiff, Hull, Villa, Portsmouth.

A few examples do not tell the whole story. Money alone does nothing. Money must be mixed with a desire and ability to push the club in the correct direction. The idea that if we force Bill to sell to the first bidder Everton will immediately take a place alongside Chelsea and City is asinine. More takeovers fail than have succeeded, mainly because the only ones that succeed are ones by monstrously rich people that see the club as a plaything and status symbol. Takeovers by businessmen generally end poorly.

My point was that being snarky and emotional tends to make any argument lose meaning to the neutral. If the board are doing such a poor job that we should try and remove them, it would be wiser to outline the areas of their failings - clearly and honestly - and give alternative to their methods. This is a much more effective tact than the pipe dream that the next Sheik will pick us.

If...? Mate the failures have been outlined and put in national and local papers for years.

I wasn't saying you were acting like a child. I said that had I responded with a list of failures I would be acting like a child. Apologies if that was misunderstood - I worried a bit about that after I posted.

I agree with you - they have failed at all that stuff! And I'm not suggesting that they're some great and perfect board. I'm suggesting a method of more clearly outlining the areas in which they are failing. A strategy to achieve the end. The end being the success of Everton Football Club.

With or without Kenwright, the splitting of the fanbase is bad for the club. We actually all want the same thing - EFC on top of the world. So let's work together to achieve that end, whether that means Kenwright out or not, I really don't care.

How do you think the fanbase got split in the first place? Failures->PR spin->more failures-> PR spin->removal of the AGM->more failure.

Yep it,s all the fans fault for the last 15 years and Bill and co must slap themselves on the wrist very hard so we can get back together again.

How many Evertonians read about the board side of things? Honestly? Most don't care as long as their seeing some semblance of success on the pitch. And with everyone in the media pushing the punching above our weight card for years, most fans probably see what we have as success - At least we're not Villa.

So when a group that DOES care organizes and tries to explain to the average Evertonian what's going wrong, they cannot rely on failures that have been outlined in the business section of papers for years - they must educate the average Evertonian to those failures. Education does not mean talking down to fellow blues because they have a different level of interest to you - or a lack of time for that matter.

The burden of proof is on the group that demands change. I don't know how many times I have to say it: I AM NOT PRO-BOARD. I AM PRO-EVERTON. So, if the board absolutely must go - the burden of proof is on you to show why the board must go, and to get that word out in a palatable way to the masses. If the board must change - the burden of proof is upon you to show ways in which it can change for the better. You are demanding change. I suggest that this means it's up to you to show why that change is necessary in a clear and concise fashion.

I agree with you - change is required. Which is why I made that thread about Everton's Profile - it showed areas in which we can easily improve, but are failing to. It shows that the board is failing to market itself. I don't live in Liverpool - there's only so much I can do.

Basically, there are a couple of possibilities as to what exactly is occurring, we can't know which one is correct, but let's go with the Kenwright out one for a moment:
Kenwright is marketing himself better than you are marketing his negatives. You won't see change until that changes.

Not once did I blame the fans for the split. I simply said that the split is bad for EFC. We should find a place in which we can be unified again.

...Alan Brazil again re-iterated this morning the Abu Dhabi takeover was on until recently. He suggested Everton upped the ante because of Champions League potential and the buyers walked away.

I reckon thousands read about the ground failures...what do you think? Kenwright told everyone that he was not the right person to take the club forward. Plenty enough for most.

The current custodians need to instigate change that means putting themsleves to one side and doing what is best for the club as they are the only people who can sell it.

He must have got a text of parry. Job Done.

Suntan said the same thing when he came on board and he wanted to heal the split. Do you think that worked after he got rid of the only decent PR man we have had in 15 years for the fans and the club.

I take it that you know the exact reason for his departure then? Care to share?

The ground failures are criminal. Especially King's Dock.

Kitbag is AWFUL - but you know, before I read about it here, neither I nor my wife/inlaws(All big blues) knew about it.

The problem is that Kenwright is not under any pressure from the fans, right? I mean, in general he seems well regarded by the fanbase - they wish he would invest, or that we would get bought by a Sheik, but it's not happening. So as fans we can put pressure on him - but we need to give good reasons to do that. And it's far more difficult when we're 'successful' on the pitch.

All I'm saying is that if the Anti-Kenwright side was less hostile it would be easier to get a consensus to put pressure on the club.

The Myers thing still makes me sad. But taken one at a time these don't add up to pressure. Why doesn't the BU or some (less negatively viewed) organization outline the failures - without emotion or hostility - in one easy to digest timeline?

...he has been talking as if he is directly ITK but I don't know how true all of this is. Seems odd somebody with deep pockets would walk away at the prospect of Champions League.

Some will say I am bias but this sort of behavior has been going on for years as we compete in the world richest league.

Kenwright should,nt be have to be put under preasure, he should do the right thing and step aside for the future of the club.

I tell you now if he wanted this club to be sold, it would be done in the summer.

I heard that myself mate ,does anyone know any more about this ? He talks about it as though its common knowledge but if they have f***ed it up through greed again this should be out in the open.
Did they honestly think Champions League was ever really on the cards? It was always a long shot.
When are we ever going to revolt against this board ?
