Good luck to him but I'm again sceptical that the club always seem to look to old contacts for senior management posts such as this. It can't be a recurring theme by accident. From what I've read of his background there, it doesn't seem hugely stellar. Everton in the Community need not have such a literal meaning when a role as critical as this has to be filled.

Stadium redevelopment and stadium development seem to be different beasts. I hope he succeeds, but my gut reaction is that they've spent weeks looking around for someone and have then made another internal appointment. I would like our senior management to have rather more global experience generally, but perhaps that's wishful thinking. I'm just a punter.

Adding the development of the shoebox Park End at Goodison should not be listed as some sort of achievement.

Another internal appointment shows a lack of diversity. We must only interview in a small pool of possible candidates, if we even have an interview process at all. We should have been looking to bring in the industry’s best.
