To be fair to them, when we stayed up last year, we had nothing planned for players/managers safety and a fan started on the opposition manager.

No, but maybe the PL have put pressure on them to show their plans to protect players/officials etc if something does happen.

I mean, I hate our board as much as the next person.

But taking the emotion out of it, why do they need to explain that they are doing a training exercise?

I’ve never seen them release a statement explaining what operation goodison exercise is.

Aside from a few on twitter and on here trying to stir up further animosity, I’d suggest the vast majority either don’t care, don’t know about it or have made the realisation it’s a training exercise most likely based on what happened last season when there was a confrontation between a fan and Viera.

Its staged bollox from you know who. Think about it. 22 players on a pitch, plus ref and linos. Final whistle, and they have to make the protected area, when all players and ref etc are near the tunnel? Before they are torn limb from limb by the crowd? (If you believe the safety narrative). If we get done and go down, there aint one supporter who puts the blame on the players anyrate.
