The Everton Board Thread

Agreed.
There are huge changes happening , these take time and call for patience.

There can often be hitches which need to be overcome to get a deal over the line so deadlines... which was approximate anyway... are rarely kept.
I honestly dont know where they get the energy from to go ballistic over an approximate deadline (which "48 hours" amounts to) being 'broken'.

These changes are a slam dunk in any case. Does anyone really think Kenwright survives and a new chairman and board aren't going to be announced in the coming days?

That new statement from alltogethernow is just breast beating.

Stand down. The war is over.

….is ‘coming days’ an approximate deadline?

"A statement will be made about interim appointments and the future of the Chairman in the next 48 hours."

There is no suggestion of anything being approximate apart from any news will be within the stated 48 hours.
There is no mention of 48 hours or beyond.
As stated above, my English language education is at the grand level of an average GCSE pass but even I can see that their statement is bullocks.
I think that if you expect every major transaction to be concluded within deadlines set out you will be sadly disappointed.

Does it matter if it is today, tomorrow or Saturday if new board members are appointed and a new chairman installed.

Don't forget that these changes almost certainly mean that the deal with MSP is signed off or about to be... and that is the big prize.

Maybe a flattened out organisation suits a football fan protest group in 2023. But I cant believe that some of the off the cuff messaging from goodness knows who helps anyone trying to distinguish concerned fans from their chaotic board or directors...'our side' looks equally chaotic.

For example, the online argument between a clearly failing chairman and alltogethernow looked terrible.

People might not agree with everything the campaign group have done in terms of their approach/messaging but I don't think people can say they haven't had an impact.

The board engaged, or perhaps 'reacted'.... appallingly so and it made their position untenable.

I'm sorry but anytime mentions 48 hours, logic and patience mean nothing.
Conditioning Everton style.
Of course you're right, the only real reason a lot of us have run out of bedsheets is their inability to stick to their own time limit. They actually created it and not to stick to it is indicative of their ignorance of the fans feelings.

As far as I'm concerned, we haven't got the change we need until Kenwright has been replaced as chairman and Moshiri has sold the club

The changes we have got so far amount to very little.

They've defo had an impact. Their hardline no compromise approach has paid off massively. They reflected the need to cut to the chase in order to save this club. Maybe a lot of meetings and formal bureaucracy would have slowed that down.

We're all on the same side, it's just that I dont think they realise they've over-pressed at times.

It's a point that's more important for the future.

I dont think that's on the immediate agenda.

Dave it won't be a Slam Dunk until the ultimate turd is flying down the U bend towards the treatment plant next to our shiny new stadia on the waterfront.

I'm sorry, but I think this is pathetic.

It's self regarding and self important "look at me" nobrot.

This organisation seriously lacks any smarts as far as I'm concerned. The process is in motion to get shut of Kenwright to go along with DBB, Sharp and Ingles. Demanding info because the deadline runs over is proper feet stamping stuff.

It goes to the heart of my criticism of that movement: it lacks the oversight and rigour that only structured organisations with elected committees and a group of officers bring to any situation. So you get random announcements like this that underline a failure to read the room.
Disagree mate. I think that it is very much needed and everyone needs to get behind it and do whatever else they can. While good times Bill clings on the club is in breach it's own regulations (Articles of Association) and is completely stagnant. There is still no communication and nothing has changed and it won't until he has gone. We should be rebuilding every aspect of the club right now to ensure that we are well ran professionally, financially and competitively. There is not a day to waste.

I commend every blue who is active about his removal.

As we’ve seen in the past, nothing is beneath Kenwright.

The man has no shame, no morals, no integrity and exists only to serve his own interests.

Every minute he remains at this club, is a minute too long.

Let’s not forget, that you were always very vocal, in your criticism of the fan groups, stating that they needed to stand down, until safety was assured.

Well, safety has been assured and the fight must still go on, until the very minute, that Kenwright leaves the club,
