Oh come on, Usmanov is a very, very bad man.

Ay last a bit of information! Well a report from a source or journalist I've never heard of but that isn't saying much.

So IF this is true ....
1. Why was he allowed into the UK?
2. Why did Everton - the club which has a proud record of doing the right thing - agree to do business with him?
3. Why were the fans, our fans, so accepting of his involvement?

Frankly I'm disgusted. If these things about Usmanov are true, I'm disgusted in the club, I'm disgusted in the fan base, I'm disgusted with the game that greedily turns a blind eye in the light of wealth.

If you eat with the devil you use long spoons I guess. The club deserves everything we get IF this is true.

But people like to bury their heads in the sand about those things and pretend they don't know about them
Is that your assumption? My assumption is that you don't understand other people's words when they aay they "don't know". Either that or you make assumptions and leap to conclusions that you can't see beyond because your mind is closed.

Perhaps you didn't come here expecting to speak with adults? 😉

I know it existed cos I remember the Arsenal fans being up in arms about it.

There used to be a lot more, but hes suppressed most of the stories about him.

1. You pay enough money to the Tory Party, you can do whatever you wish, well, apart from invade another country
2. Greed
3. Cos most fans would turn a blind eye to child soldiers in Africa if it meant we spent a bit of money.

I know its wiki, but it has sources.

Suppression of online criticism[edit]

On 2 September 2007, Craig Murray, the former British ambassador to Uzbekistan referred to Usmanov's criminal conviction,[97] claiming that Usmanov "was in no sense a political prisoner, but a gangster and racketeer who rightly did six years in jail"[98] and his pardon was the work of Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov on the instructions of Uzbekistani power broker and alleged drug trafficker Gafur Rakhimov.[99][100] In the face of libel threats from Usmanov's lawyers Schillings, some media had to apologize for publishing them. Murray persists in the allegation.[101] The article was subsequently removed by Murray's web host, allegedly under pressure from Usmanov's legal team, London's Schillings law firm.[98] However, what followed was that Schillings contacted owners of independent blogs and websites warning them to remove any references to Murray's allegations, and any reproduction of Murray's blog post.[97] UK Indymedia reported that they were one of the sites that had been issued with a take-down notice, on 10 September 2007 and again on 21 September.[102] On 20 September 2007, Bloggerheads.com, the weblog of Tim Ireland, was taken down for reproducing Murray's article, incidentally causing the loss of other blogs belonging to the MP Boris Johnson and councillor Bob Piper – neither of which had been used to repost the article

Kinell. This has absolutely murdered the last bit of pride I had in our club. Its become a flecking sewer.

Why ruin your post with the childish snipe at the end?

It really highlights what the F, if anything, the Fit and Proper owners and directors test for football clubs actually checks

I thought that was the level you were aiming for. You've been pretty mistrusting and insulting, rather than just answer questions in a discussion.

To be fair ... if I'd come into the thread earlier and saw you were arguing against foreverblue I'd have probably believed you to be in the right a lot sooner!

I am being judged by many on here by username. I am called a troll and I am getting silly responses of faux ignorance to my comments. All I did was refute Foreverblue because he was praising Usmanov and Moshiri and I didn't like that. They are not nice people, I think Usmonav a lot worse than Moshiri. The level of debate is really poor.
However, if u want to draw a line in the sand and move on I am happy to hold out my hand for a virtual handshake and apologise if I have offended you and move on :)

I am not saying none of this happened nor am I making excuses for the man. All of this is purely allegations. Nothing more. Nothing proved. In fact if it wasn't for the war in Ukraine then he would still be carrying out his day to day business in London. This "takeover" by Moshiri went in front of all the relative authorities and they passed it

Theres a fella in America who is being charged with about 6 crimes and he still might become President of the USA.

Without the war in Ukraine he would indeed still be having tea with Sunak.

That doesnt mean hes not a very, very bad man.

Still allegations, nothing proven as much as I detest the man. He was at his golf club yesterday

It is a real sign of the way the world has gone. It was well known what Putin was doing before the war in Ukraine and it was well known how these Oligarchs got their money and the corruption behind it but a blind eye was turned to it. Ukraine brought these issues to the fore which forced the Western World to make a response.
