Who knows what’s going on behind the scenes if we do have deals on the table or not however the situation has got so untenable that come midnight with nobody through the door then serious questions need answering.

The issue with pathological liars is that eventually the yarn of string runs out. Nowhere to fall back to and hide which was evident in the moments leading up to the Southampton game with the incendiary club statement. This was the boards nadir, no logical way to excuse the situation any further and the only option left was to blame the fans.

You only have to look at the facts in the last few days. £45m of incomings in cash up front yet we don’t spend. Yes our league position doesn’t help but all six clubs around us are separated by a couple of points and have added 3-4 players in some cases.

The reality is that we likely have either a serious financial issue that is not in the public domain and not related to FFP or the toxic reputation of the club has put players off or both.

Either way Bill, Mosh and the rest of the legion of doom are responsible for this and them along and must go. “Don’t protest, it will affect the players” they say. Ask yourself, have we already reached the point of no return with nothing to lose?

Probably better to expect another Farhad explainer video, than any new signings today

Farhad doing his best "we're sorry" shifting the blame on everything but themselves

If by 11pm there's no players in (plural) then there's no point in not protesting.

The club is down anyway.

We'll have no board by 11pm in those circumstances. They cant return to the club. Ever.
Dave, I'm sure you are not gullible enough to believe that, if we haven't made signings by the deadline, the board will cease to run the club. It doesn't matter if they turn up at Goodison on match days or not, they can still complete their demolition job on the club. You have constantly said we will get a couple of players in and be ok, lots of others have said we don't think that will be the case. Well guess what, tick tock, less that four and a half hours left before deadline and all our activity in this window has been outgoings.

I get that it's not been easy for Thelwell, with the financial constraints, and with decent players not wanting to take a chance on us in our current state.

There can be no excuses though.

Everybody involved with Everton knew what our minimum requirements were this transfer window before it even opened. We've had 31 days to take some action that might give us at least a fighting chance of avoiding relegation.

I've never felt so ashamed and embarrassed for my club.

Heads have gotta roll.

They're a board in absentia. Until a sale. And that will arrive shortly, because not sepnding and pocketing the Gordon cash only make sense in that light.

Mate don’t trust what you read on the internet, you’ll feel well let down.
