The Everton Board Thread

Making the grounds unsafe for the board and harassing players. It’s no wonder nobody wants to join us. The toxic fans ruined the club. It’s over
Players come from the roughest estates in the roughest countries in the world. You think the fans are bad? go and see what they can be like in France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Eastern Europe, South America. Nothing to do with the fans, we are an unstable environment due to league position and finance and therefore we don't present the best career option.

This bit of the Carragher piece hammers it home as far as the board are concerned, especially the sentence in bold:

'But any sympathy I had for fellow board members such as Kenwright, Barrett-Baxendale and most recently Thelwell has gradually evaporated because there is a choice for them in the situation Everton are in. If they feel they are being unfairly held accountable they ought to use their influence to communicate to the supporters exactly how and why the club is in its current state. If they really feel they are blameless and their presence has prevented a full-scale descent into chaos, perhaps it is time to take stock, look at the carnage around them and ask if their presence is a help or hindrance?
Either they are guilty of underplaying their influence, or self-interest has overtaken the broader needs of the club. Everyone can see the enduring involvement of chairman Kenwright at Everton is causing further division among the fanbase. History will be unforgiving if the board members are not on the right side of it. Given the gravity of Everton’s situation, if the root of the problem is elsewhere and they are being wrongly blamed, some of them should have left on a matter of principle years ago.'

They need to either stop hiding and speak up or get out.

Slightly extended (full?) version of the interview now on Sky YT channel

There's no arguing with what they said.

I wish we weren't a soap opera like, but we are now.

All SSN want from Everton is crisis and more crisis. That's our club's role now for them - with the finale that they wanted last season almost guaranteed for them: relegation to the second flight.

They'll then exploit our presence down there to promote their Championship coverage.

I suppose this is a good time to buy Everton Football Club, and that's what I fully expect to happen, although I can see Moshiri retaining some shares. I also have a feeling it'll be sooner than expected.

Regardless of everything, I will celebrate the day that fat slug ends his association with our club. I will forever have nothing but ill feeling towards him.

There will always be an Everton Football Club. We will dust ourselves off and go again.

What happened to Blue Bill being able to sell the club like no other?

Just show signings a video/pics of the Palace game and say you'll experience that if you help keep the club up? Better than nonsense about headlocks.

Mad how he's one of the most outspoken out there against the board. Barely anything from any of our legends bar err Alan Stubbs.

I think my childhood heroes standing by and letting the club get eaten from the inside is one of the biggest disappointments in all this for me.

I think this would be a great protest.

We are 19th in the league so in the 19th minute on sat every fan in the ground stands up and sings heeees Brazilian only cost £50 million Richarlison.
The reason for this if it wasn’t for this board he would still be here now, along with Rodriguez and Digne, this board employed Benitez and it all dismantled very quickly.

At the same time get your banners out against the board, that way the team won’t be affected and the message will get across, also Richarlison has also shown his discontent recently with this Danjuma guy the way he S£&=t on us.

It’s only a thought but the pressure needs ramping up big time on these clowns

Just how the fanbase divorces the rift with the Board from the supporting the players and the new manager, remains to be seen, and is part of the narrative around our potential relegation.

The Board have left everyone feeling angry, betrayed and bitterly dissapointed. Those emotions have to be put in a box for a couple of hours on Saturday.

It is not an easy task.
