This is real wisdom. A balanced post from a balanced poster, the lifeblood of GOT.

Could you expand on the theorem at the bottom please fellow blue.
We live in an era of Super Bloooness where peoples life and mood depends on our results.

And in the likelihood of a defeat this manifests itself into hatred and bile towards the one thing they profess to love so much.

I'm taking my optimism one game at a time - Ive gone from 0, to 1 for the villa game and up to 2 for Spurs. I top out at 3 this season, with the exception of an FA cup run which could put me at a delusional 4.

Hello fellow blues and bloos it is nice to see optimism amongst our threads today and it made me think, gee I wonder how we could track Evertonian optimism in real time.

So above I’ve formulated a simple poll which the option to change your vote as often as you want to signal your general optimism about Everton at any given point.

In the poll 5 signifies extreme optimism and 0 denotes complete desolation.

If you want to add any comments about how you feel about Everton and why in that moment then feel free. Please note this thread isn’t a cynical trap to demonstrate the bipolar nature of online Everton fans at all.

Up the Toffees.
Another crap thread, Chico ..... farming again hey ho

Yesterday's match had a healing effect. It will bring together a divided fanbase.

Can you add a 6 please @chicoazul for unrealistic levels of over optimism. I've definitely gone waaaaaaaay past extreme optimism by looking at how many wins are needed to get into Europe this season.

This optimism will be replaced by gut wrenching unimaginable deflation on Saturday evening after Brighton spank us into oblivion.

I feel that now we are rid of the cowardly, draw specialist ginger doom monger, in the words of Yazz, The Only Way is Up.

Mainly thanks to the great work by our new USA overlords in replacing him quickly and efficiently with a steadying ship, of our returning silver fox.

We can all watch football matches again without feeling like slashing our collective wrists.

I had to go with a 4. And that’s because I know we have always had enough pieces to be comfortably mid-table. Just needed an attacking approach and mindset adjustment. And we had to give players a chance who would’ve rotted on the bench otherwise.

The 4 vote isn’t because I think Moyes will have us top 10 this season or transfers will overly impress. It’s because of where we started and where we’ve been. How low the fan base has been and how a win like yesterday was such a swing in emotions. We’ve been starved of it.

Top sides are just so used to winning they expect it and can’t appreciate what it is to struggle. Look at Citeh. Fans have no clue what to do. Evertonians can be bothered and angry. But never will they turn their backs on the club.
