Absolutely - just chipped into the fans campaign thread in the hope of garnering some middle fingers.

Fans always ruin football by taking a child's ball game far too seriously.
Word. God speed man, your mission is noble. I think the anger they project is just what they feel towards themselves inside.

Crap Everton are the best therapy.

Hi guys.

Moshiri came out today and markedly put some of Everton’s failure on the fans.

Now I know this an emotive subject but I don’t think that screaming no it’s not me it’s you like a scorned toddler is the right reaction to hearing Everton’s owner say thi/

Perhaps it’s time to put our big pants on and have an adult, introspective discussion about how good we really are as fans?

Are perhaps we the baddies?
Perfectly valid statement too.

As owner he's responded to fan criticism and perhaps gone against his better judgement in sacking managers.

We have to bear some responsibility for that. Look at the difference a United fanbase, like Newcastle for example, can make to a teams fortunes.

We need more of this accountability from fans if we’re to truly change and help Everton get better.

1. Who else has had a big money takeover that absolutely flopped? I can't think of any.

2. It's also that lot getting back to winning the league and making deep CL runs and having to hear about it every single day. It's radicalized the fan base.

Just read an interesting article in The Athletic, can’t link cos of paywall. Basically load of ex pros, commentators and referees (John Motson, Danny Murphy etc)give their lowdown on which teams fans are the biggest scruffs and least friendly. No surprises who comes top of the list… We really need to stop the rot IMO

Anybody not pointing out to mr murphy that he is a no-neck-weasel with the football insight of a watered down roy hodgson isn't and can never be a real sports fan. Good thing is, once we're relegated these spivs and thickos will be even less welcome. megabells to the lot of em!

Everton fans have their own issues to deal with... but I think in general the British football fan culture is toxic. You all have a moan about everything, every minute of the game. It's absolutely miserable.

Football is a hard game, even for top professionals. If you can kick a football and it always does what you want it to do every single time, then why is the net 24 feet wide and 8 feet high?
