France winning three out of the last seven World Cups is too much. Especially since they’d never won it before 1998.

The Argentinians have waited long enough, and I think Messi deserves it.

Plus it’d make Ronaldo furious.

Argentina and the English fought one war.

France and the English fought wars for the better part of a millennium. I think circumstances landing them on the same side against Germany prior to World War I surprised those in both capitals as much as anyone else.

A century may have done a lot to tear walls down, but there's still animosity and then some.

My irrational (and likely unhealthy) beef is with messi, argentina is a wonderful country.

Not really arsed about either side but I can't stand the idea of the hipster fans and the embarrassment that is the media reacting to Messi wining a world cup. Their love-in with him is already nauseating enough. So with that being said: Vive la France!

I don't know anyone that wouldn't like to see Messi win it. I'd love him to do so, even outside of the player he is, he seems a genuinely nice man and not a prima donna.

Argentina will have to earn it on the day though. I think they will.
