He ticks a lot of boxes.
1.Brought up the Ajax way.
2. A class defender (what our young defenders need)
3. Well known and respected in world football.

He would definitely be a draw for international players. We will need that because we are now a bottom half team going off the last two seasons. We don't want to pay high prices/wages for mercenaries.

Would we want someone with a little more experience from managing in different leagues? Don't get me wrong, he's got to do better than RM but do we want to take a risk on someone who could potentially flop?

Anyone want to convince me why he should be our new manager? I need someone to wrap me up in a fluffy blanket, make me a cup of tea and tell me why he'll take us to the next level.....and beyond (in your head, say that bit like buzz light year).

One of the major + points to getting this guy is that he plays 4-3-3 because frankly I am sick and tired of 4-2-3-1

Also the players - and youth players - can only benefit from a backroom staff including Stam, Kluivert & Bergkamp

Every potential manager is a risk. No guarantees that if you're successful at one club you can replicate it at another. The only way we find out is by giving someone a chance.

Do Ajax have a Director of Football, sounds like the sort of club that should do?

Given The Esk's view that this might be the direction Everton are going in, it could be an important consideration to look at candidates comfortable with this set up.

Perfect Scenario is he comes in tomorrow, fines Osman 2 weeks wages straight off just 'cos I can' (Actually uses that as the reason as well).

All the players instantly pull their heads out of their arses to impress the new fella, we beat Norwich 5-0.

Then in the summer he gets rid of Hibbo, Pienaar, Oviedo and Osman.

Normal Scenario:

He comes in and we no longer have Martinez in charge.

I'd be happy with either.

A fair few Ajax fans coming out the woodwork to moan about his tactics.

Defensive (a welcome word in these parts) and boring are the words used. To be honest we're already boring and predictable, so at least we won't be giving away goals as often as we have.

He appears to have done well to the uninformed eye. 4 titles in 5 season with a smaller budget than his rivals. Not to be sniffed at.

I can guarantee that, by the end of next season, some will be on here moaning that we don't play nice football anymore.

I'd seriously rather we got Rafael Benitez.
