That's beyond question isn't it?

The success of the other two makes them senior to Palace. All Palace have going for them is a PL place.
So prior to these Textor links to us (who you admit you had never heard of until then), did you have any idea that Palace and Lyon were even remotely linked considering the link is through textor?

What difference does that make? If I were a fan of Palace I would.

Because you keep crying about losing our identity to multi club models due to how the media will refer to us. And are using Palace as an example as to how owners will prioritise the other club (Lyon in this case).

Yet you quite clearly had zero idea they were even linked as you didn’t know who Textor was and you just said you would only know they are linked if you were a palace fan.

So clearly their identity has not been lost and the clubs are run as separate entities with neither taking preference.

Let''s put it this way: I don't think anyone in football would say that Palace are of equal standing in football to Lyon.

And the PL equation to your argument makes no sense to me.

Are we saying that any club in the PL has a status that would put them at the head of a stable clubs just because they play a few seasons in that league and enjoy a few years revenue from it? Does that mean the likes of Burnley and Watford would be prized assets for some butterfly collecting egomaniac businessman? I highly doubt it.

Anyway: brass tacks - Roma are not anytime soon going to be seen as a club that will be eclipsed by us in the minds of TFG.
But we’re not really talking about people’s perception of their “standing in football”. We’re talking about where an owner would see them fitting in their multi-club model.
Sure, you can rightly argue that a more successful team from a smaller league can have a better standing in football, or are deemed a “bigger” club, than some PL teams.

But that’s not the only metrics used, and an owner would look at far more than that. I really don’t think you appreciate and are far too flippant of the PL effect and the attractiveness of possibilities that brings to owners.

Regarding your examples of Burnley and Watford, I’d actually say that yes, a lot of owners would deem them as fit to sit at the top of their multi-club model, depending on what other clubs they have. The potential commercial ceilings any PL or Championship club has compared to a lot of top tier teams from mainland Europe is huge.

End of the day, owners will want what they’ve always wanted, to make the most money. For the vast majority of the time, that can be done with a PL club, regardless of any perceived standing in football.

We’ll have to disagree on the Roma / Everton comparison. For one I don’t think the butterfly collecting egomaniac (that did genuinely make me laugh btw you absolute mentalist) will be looking at it as a competition between the two. And if he did, he knows full well that more commercial success is available with us. If / when this deal goes through, I have no doubt that in time Everton will be blazed front and centre across the TFG’s website and company portfolio, in exactly the same way Roma currently are.
