I’m all up for criticising the club when I can, in fact I get off on it but to be fair to marketing it must be really difficult when the club have done absolutely nothing in the lifetimes of the target demographic they’re marketing to and the City they come from is associated with a much more successful club that also has the same name as the bloody city!
That's the whole point though isn't it. You can't win against a brand that's named after a city. What we don't do is extend out into other areas. Let's be honest unless we sign a Ronaldo or a Beckham esk player our shirt sales aren't going to be flying off the shelves on a global scale are they. That in itself is short sighted quick fire cash generation which isn't sustainable. Just because we do today doesn't mean we have to do the same tomorrow. Its in our fecking Moto only the best..

Yeah I’ve never heard of Castore but it sounds like that Cabrini brand that all the chavs wore in the 00’s so I’m sure they absolutely suck. You are right, there’s no reason any “brand” couldn’t make at least a bloody t shirt that sells
Englands Cricket team is all Castore stuff, they are a strange company, seem to have plenty of money behind them but their gear is fairly low grade.

Perhaps we could declare Everton as a city in its own right, like the Vatican. It could have its own devolved parliament with Andy Burnham as Mayor.

just "give them time"

As @GrandOldTeam said. It was briefed

In hindsight its scary how far it actually got.

Yet those that spoke out with concerns about it got chastised

That part from @GrandOldTeam should stick in people's minds

Concerns can always be raised - in the best interests of Everton Football Club - and no one deserves chastisement for raising them

(Alan Myers was blocking people on twitter that raised them FYI, something I'll never forget)

I agree with that to a point, but take the tee-shirts and jackets etc that's for sale in the souvenir shop. It's garbage and has been for years, that's I reason most people don't buy stuff. That's nothing to do with LFC. I'm not even talking about the Castore stuff. The non Castore stuff is like stuff you'd see in TJ Hughes'. That is an easy win for a new regime to sort out
Some good stuff in tjs mate I got me wedding suit from there

Why are people thinking that Friedkin is gonna get us a Toyota soponsor?

He sells Toyotas, he doesn’t own the company.

Liken it to a fella owning an ice cream van and sponsoring a local youth team with Wall’s ice cream.

Only way it happens is if Friedkin uses his relationship with Toyota, picks up the phone and asks them to get involved. Literally what TFG will have to do with any company on this planet to get sponsorship funds in.

For me it was how long it actually dragged on, when the World and it's Dog knew it was over long before it was. Moshiri must have been desperate, but I suppose the loans were a bit hand in that, they probably kept the stadium dream alive at the time, what a mess.

Desperation is a good word mate - two things stand out 777 were never getting a sniff at another PL club and only our distressed state made it viable, Moshiri couldn't afford to fund the club so very few were willing to throw 20 mill a month at us. Thus two desperate parties for different reasons and neither intention good for us.

In a season were the PL did their best to muller us, it was them actually trying to preserve their brand that ultimately saved us from these.

Then he still had the balls to do that interview with Jas Bal saying "Don't worry about the stadium, I can take care of it if need be" utter fraud he is.
