The issue for sky and BT is there is no audience at 3pm Saturday. They don't want it.
Their core audience will be at games. Granted there will be some sort of audience but nowhere near enough.
It's not like abroad where the viewers have no chance of going to games.
Yes, I hadn't thought of that. Doesn't affect me here as I can watch every match whenever I like. And I do.

I think some of you are thinking too locally. Showing the 3pm Arsenal vs City game or United/Everton vs Liverpool game would be huge around the world, where those paying fans (or rather “customers”) would jump at the chance to stream a 3pm or any time game of their team ir whatever they fancied on the day, if it was a reliable/decent quality production, but more importantly, for a reasonable price. Unfortunately this is the sticking point - what you and me would think reasonable (say £2.50 per game), will not be entertained - they will want silly money like £10-£20.

Should be something like £2.50 for YOUR team (one supported team), then maybe a fiver for other games.

If they really thought about it, and worked with fans both here and around the world, it could work. But they will just think ££££ and it will be yet another version of ruining the game, a piece at a time.
The funny thing is, I get Premier League football virtually for nothing. It comes as part of a pay TV package of dozens of other channels whether you watch it or not. And plenty probably don't.

Expect we needed another loan and the only way to get that was to agree a sale. Can think of reasons why either party would want to wait to complete until end of season.

Hopefully TFG deep enough in now that it's in their interest to keep us out of administration.

Bro maths right there. Well done mate, you’ve cracked it.

I understand some nerves on the part of any Evertonian but I think we should allow ourselves a break and let the process unfold.

The sale is agreed and a joint statement was issued. I guess the Leadenhall case is a complication of sorts but TFG were confident enough to agree terms of sale with Moshiri with that ongoing.

If they thought it was an impediment to completion their legal representatives would have advised them of such and we would have heard nothing of an agreement.

There is a piece in "the i" (name?) this morning about Friedkins people being in on the ground in the last fortnight and having meetings with staff.

Nothings ever done till it's done. By the same token war could break out though. By Christmas Moshiri should be history.
People must also recognise that we, as the fans, have no right to know every key detail, so as you say we need to let it unfold. It's going to happen.

I think we will hear snippets about 24 hours before, and then it'll be announced straight to the press.

The issue is the horse has bolted mate. Allegedly millions of fans are watching selected content at 3.00pm on a Saturday, if you popped into the match thread everyone is watching the game, maybe they are all at the game, but also maybe not! ;)

Grounds and pubs are still full, waiting lists exist for tickets.

There is revenue to be made out there, being allegedly made by others, because there isn’t an alternative or the broadcaster haven’t embraced or haven’t been allowed to embrace the available tech.

It’s like when Napster and Limewire were breaking ground on the music scene for a few years downloading, the music industry tried cracking down, realised it was impossible, gave people a legitimate, high quality format to do it and now how many of use limewire and how many of us legitimate pay for Spotify.
The blackout isn't designed to protect the top clubs though, it's to protect the pyramid. The issue is that teams in the lower reaches are concerned that their attendances will be hit if people can stay at home and watch a massive PL game on TV rather than coming to watch them. Research and anecdotal evidence both suggest that the horse absolutely hasn't bolted in that regard.

Yes, it's exactly like the Napster thing. It's at least as big amongst 'normal' people as that was.

Piracy was defeated in the mainstream in music by offering a reasonably-priced alternative, first with iTunes' 79p / 99¢ tracks - then all-you-can-eat Spotify as you say.

Netflix did similar with film and TV.

Ultimately, I think this is where we're headed. I absolutely hate trying to find and watch a stream. I already pay for Sky / TNT, and I'd happily pay to get access to all of Everton's games in properly reliable UHD direct from the Premier League.

If the league keep their global rights and launch their own service, they can price it right so that it effectively kills the streaming market. It at least removes it from the mainstream, anyway.

originally said about November so approaching that so lets see
Only people speculating said November. The league and the Friedkins have said no such thing. Ratcliffe was approved in 4 weeks because he was obviously credible as are the Friedkins. On that basis i expect this to be announced any day and definately before the end of November. Early xmas prezzie!
