He deserves a role of some sort, he has fronted the board single handedly whilst others vanished or hid.
Think he's played an absolute blinder tbf to him. The crap he's had to deal with since Mosh shoved his head up his own arse and went AWOL would have crushed many lesser mortals. When you factor in the stadium build on the back of the rest it he's played an absolute worldy.

Deserves the gratitude of every Evertonian keeping us going the last 18mths or so.

Agree with this.

Hopefully they’re the right choice but I’m slightly uneasy with it.

Just wary about the Friedkin’s been given the misguided impression by some that they need to maintain a local connection and that this is somehow necessary at Everton.

It’s exactly the type of nonsense that the club likes to tell itself.

The art of self preservation is strong in the inner circle of EFC and having a barrier between themselves and accountability would be worrying to me.

Best off starting from a completely fresh perspective if you ask me.

But this is a local club, for local people...we'll have no trouble here.

At least we won’t have to play away games in London or Swansea!

On the Evertonian/Board member issue - if there's two equally qualified candidates for the board, and one of them is an Evertonian, then I'd take that person.

If there's a difference in how qualified they are, I'd take the more qualified, irrespective of who they support
I would imagine the board is made up of about a dozen people. There is room for both. It would be advantageous to have both.

Ultimately, I want people with solid business acumen and footballing knowledge running the club, and as you say, if they're an Evertonian it's a bonus.

But it certainly can't be a prerequisite because for too long we've had token board members and yes-people. I want people who will truly shape our club.

Appoint someone to liaise directly with supporters committees etc, to take the temperature of the fans regularly and show them they matter. Appointing two fans to the board honestly feels like a cheap move to try to score a quick win with the fans.
God help anyone who has to liaise directly with our fanbase.
