The Future of the Internet?

Won't happen.

There's probably other videos on youtube with people saying the world will end in 2012 too.

A man who thinks that 2012 is in 4 years time doesn't deserve your attention.

Nope, its real.

Why wouldnt huge companies want to control the internet for profit purposes.

They already do.

Besides, they need to provide a service for people to use it. No-one would want to subscribe to such a system, it would mean the end of small business, so they would all be up in arms as well.

Smacks too much of illuminati bull**** to me.

Now, what you should be worried about is the plans our government is trying to put through where they monitor every bit of communication you make on the internet.

So you dont believe big companies are capable of filtering the internet so we can only use certain mainstream sites? And the government wouldn't back them up?

I reckon its kind of naive to dismiss it or put in the 'end of the world' category. I guess its that attitude that would allow this kind of thing to happen.

Oh well, I spend too much time on the net anyway, there was life before the internet, there will be life after it.

And the BBC will always be free.

 Remind me not to stand near you in the trenches.

This is going to be a war, which side are you on?

All he's saying there is that news websites will charge you to view them.

Not that ISPs are going to only allow you to view Corporate websites, for a subscription.

Okay so if this news website decides to charge you, there will be a lead on effect, other sites charging subscriptions; then whats the next step? Bundling website subscriptions with your ISP and filtering out most of the smaller sites because they have the same information.

You see what I mean? Do you think Murdoch/others are scrupulous enough to let you go about grabbing free stuff when they are losing money?

The net is about to get taxed hard. And we shouldnt put up with it is all Im saying. You don't work for said large corporations do you? And BTW i loved the picture you put up of your house (if it was you)
