Go out, watch tele, murder and rape, you know, the normal things people did before the internet.
They still do that now, damn, this internet is not working.

Picture of my house?
No, I don't work for any corporations. I am staunchly anti-capitalist. But I don't think what you're saying is true. In fact, I think what you're saying is a complete non-sequitr. Websites already charge people for content, Murdoch is saying that he is going to charge people to view the Sun online and ****. Like you're buying the paper. That doesn't mean he's going to strike a deal with ISPs that you can only view his site, he doesn't have that power. None of them do.
And if any of them tried it, the backlash would be severe. It won't happen.
So you dont believe big companies are capable of filtering the internet so we can only use certain mainstream sites? And the government wouldn't back them up?
I reckon its kind of naive to dismiss it or put in the 'end of the world' category. I guess its that attitude that would allow this kind of thing to happen.
What is likely to happen is top sites like Google and Facebook are going to command a fee. Other sites probably won't, but that's my thoughts.
Mind you would it be that bad? To pay for web? Unless it's not stupidly high then I can imagine it being pretty effective. Fan sites would go (I see GOT as more than just a fansite) as they are generally put together by any old clown. I would also imagine there would be some kind of standard seal of approval before a site could enter the upper echelon of Internet, or Internet 2 as it's known.
However, the fears that these EuroGeeks are instilling in everyone is about as realistic as a German not realising that mullets are **** hair cuts.
These sites make massive amounts of money from advertising. Especially facebook. Their rates are based on page impressions. Should they start charging, I don't think their income from the subscription fees would recoup their losses based on users who can't afford/refuse to pay for online features such as these. Based on that, I don't think we'll see a massive charge-per-use movement online.
Do they charge?
EDIT: Like a subscription ... the Web site?
What would you say that you are?
