not a bad book about the tonbridge robbery.i can't remember that robbery at the time even though it was one of the biggest jobs done.i'm from ireland so a few english heads will probably remember it.i don't think they ever recovered most of the money.half professional job half amateur hour.terrible security at a place that holds millions upon millions upon millions.main suspect lee murray is still in morocco jail.he was a cage fighter at one stage.

Just finished reading this. Interesting concept and delightful story centred on a tiny coffee shop in Tokyo. Involves travelling back in time and regret, lost love, death and other musings on life. Apparently the film version is over-sentimentalised bollocks.

Finished Colour of Magic (1st book in Pratchetts Discworld series)

Cannot really relate to why it is held in such high regard, I have the 2nd book in the series so I will give that a go, but if its anything like the 1st one I doubt I will be reading the remaining 40 odd books in the series. There is a lot of stuff out there to read without me labouring through a series I can't get on with.
So we shall see.

Long long time since I read TP but think Colour of Magic is rated as an apprentice effort, when he was still developing his style. Worth reading another couple to see if you like them.

Plenty to go, the man was an absolute genius.
Some go on about PG Woodhouse as the ultimate master of comic english prose...and he was.
Pratchett is his equal or better
Stick with it.

Edit; then again, one mans meat etc.

Just finished The Room Where It Happened. Bolton's memoir when he served under Trump

Not worth reading, there are far better books about Trump out there, this guy comes across as a war-monger who wants to invade/sanction any country he doesn't like, he also constantly rips into former colleagues he obviously didn't get on with, and he really tears into Obama's policies.

The book is him saying why something should have been done about a particular 'crisis' but Trump not doing what he was told to do. As much as I dislike Trump I would also ignore most of what this guy said he had advised, the USA would be in half a dozen wars if he had his way.

For all the hype its a very poor book, believe the Amazon reviews that are saying how bad it is.

Almost finished reading this. Well written and researched. Basically most jobs in finance, insurance, real estate and marketing are bollocks. Get rid of all the useless jobs and we can all be on a 15 hour week. Quite though provoking. There’s a lot of human potential being wasted in silly or destructive jobs.
