well the nz legal people i.e. from the rfu and the tribe in question have stated that there isnt a case to answer legally, as it isnt a rip of their 'sacred' haka, it seems that also they were concerned that our shirt may be mistaken for one of theirs. seems that they also want worldwide rights to black clothing as well.
someone over there has instantly taken the knock and increased the publicity before realising that they have probably been 'sucked in', a case of sticking their Taiaha in their own foot, then when looking down at what they have done, poking their eye out with the other end.
they should apologise for the offence caused to the club with the allegations levelled, the club should take this route to prolong the publicity. then we can all touch noses in the centre circle, accept each others apologies and tap them up for investment.
I dont know anything about the internal shenanigans of all that so I'll not comment on how oversensitive and/or litigious they can be. I doubt the press has been all that positive though - Taiaha through the club's foot in that respect. I wonder what Tim Cahill's reaction to it all was? I know he's Samoan on his mother's side and not Maori, but I bet if they'd tried it on with their version of that war dance he'd have been mortified. It just smacks of complete lack of smarts for me: "Oh, we have a black kit...let's do that Haka to promote it". You'd think these people would learn a trick or two: Scots pipers on the pitch miming to z-cars!
That's the Maoris and Gaels done. **** knows what international incident they'd have created if they'd been allowed into Ghana. The HT black and white minstrel show they were planning wouldn't have gone down too well I dont think.
