Is it really that bad? I am in Vietnam where it's obviously hot, but with regular downpours - for example this evening, the road here flooded and I needed to wade through shin-deep water to get home, where an air conditioning unit was awaiting me. Almost lost a flip flop after it came off my foot as I was crossing the road.

BY UK standards, yes. Its literally too hot to go out in it. If you are in a country used to that, then, well, you are used to it. We just aint.

27 here but there is a decent breeze at the minute which is most welcome.

My lad has a game at 7.30 and it will not be fun.

Think we are forecast close to 27 at midnight. Thing is, its the hot air that has traveled north, and that aint going away for a day or so.

Surprisingly difficult to angle a fan so that it’s breeze hits the sweet spot up the leg of your shorts.

Do what I do, clip one of these to each leg and put a 3rd on your waist band - but upside down ?
Have to be sweat free down there to begin with though or your extra vinegary scent will be wafted far and wide.

The worst part about this heat is that we have to endure these climate change freaks lecturing us about global warming.

You should sit out in it for a couple of hours. It will give you an idea of what awaits you for eternity when you kick off this mortal coil.

It mentioned 1976 on the news tonight where the temperature averaged 33c for 3 months .... not a week or so ... down south has had it worse no doubts, but even heavy showers forecast for pm tomorrow in the North West - then Thursday dropping to 24 c - an excessive outburst of high temperatures = yes - seasonal most probably .....

Just follow the guidelines & don't do anything stupid - like someone letting rocket fireworks off last night down south ....causing fires ....
