The Illicit Power of Our Overpaid and Underachieving Players

No coming back from supporting an Everton manager.

That just about sums up how 'kin snookered we are at this club. It's the reason these clowns in the dressing room will always get away with it. Backing those players and the failed parasite coaching staff and piling it all on the manager.

They are laughing their bollocks off at us.

Some other poor get will be in soon and they'll get the treatment too.

Dont let Benitez's Liverpool connections obscure that this is the next in a long line of backroom muggings of a manager at this club.

It's a festering boil that never gets lanced.
Good to have you back.

Who do you think is behind it? It can't be all of the players and staff.

Can't be the owners fault. He and the manager are in unison.
No using it wont; it will.

There'll be no sacking at all...even less so if we come away with something.

Go and gave a look where power rests at this club. It's with the manager and owner. They are in unison and in control.

Everton last sacked a manager in 2019 because they were in the relegation zone.

The side that started today featured three Benitez signings, one of Everton's best players (DCL), the club captain who has shown nothing but support for Benitez, last year's young player of the season, the best midfielder.

Bad managers make average players a lot worse. Benitez is a very, very, very bad manager and has rightly been sacked. It should have happened weeks ago.

I'll meet you half way.

Could it not be both that were/are the issue?

What a pointless thread - we all know majority of the players aren’t good enough. They’ve failed under successive managers and big turnover is needed and has been needed for a good few years. Far too many players contributing nothing and sitting on their contracts.

Nobody, not a single person, is sitting here thinking Rafael had a great group of players that don’t need replaced. We all want the players replaced, just that nobody, other than you Dave, wants/wanted Rafael to be the one doing the replacing.

This should be merged with the Benitez thread - a place where Dave is terrified to post now - for obvious reasons.

He shouldn’t be allowed to separate the narrative of a disastrous, busted flush of a manager with some spurious accusations about multiple sets of players conspiring to remove managers one after another.

Davek has got a point. Benitez isn't the only problem at this club.

However, he seems to be as defensively clueless as Martinez and has the absence of creativity of Allardyce, and the same inability to organise set pieces as did Silva. However you look at it, two wins in the last 13 games, one against relegation strugglers in the Championship, is an appalling record. Add to that his persistence in picking Rondon and nobody can say that Benitez's time here has been a success.

If we do sack him, however, any new manager will still have to cope with Coleman, Keane, Delph, Gbamin, Gomes, Iwobi, Kenny, Holgate et al. At least Tosun, Siggurdsson, Kenny and Delph will be gone at the season's end.
