The Illicit Power of Our Overpaid and Underachieving Players

What a pointless thread - we all know majority of the players aren’t good enough. They’ve failed under successive managers and big turnover is needed and has been needed for a good few years. Far too many players contributing nothing and sitting on their contracts.

Nobody, not a single person, is sitting here thinking Rafael had a great group of players that don’t need replaced. We all want the players replaced, just that nobody, other than you Dave, wants/wanted Rafael to be the one doing the replacing.

Time to let this no marks thread die

This should be merged with the Benitez thread - a place where Dave is terrified to post now - for obvious reasons.

He shouldn’t be allowed to separate the narrative of a disastrous, busted flush of a manager with some spurious accusations about multiple sets of players conspiring to remove managers one after another.
I understand that you dont fell up to debating me.

Noted.

We literally had an average PL team. Slap bang in mid table when he took them over. They aren't awful players, maybe not good enough for what we want in terms of Europe etc, but not poor players. They are capable in this league.

Until this manager came in and then they have dropped down the table.

No coming back from supporting an Everton manager.

That just about sums up how 'kin snookered we are at this club. It's the reason these clowns in the dressing room will always get away with it. Backing those players and the failed parasite coaching staff and piling it all on the manager.

They are laughing their bollocks off at us.

Some other poor get will be in soon and they'll get the treatment too.

Dont let Benitez's Liverpool connections obscure that this is the next in a long line of backroom muggings of a manager at this club.

It's a festering boil that never gets lanced.
He is and never was an Everton manager.
Just some fools thought he was.

Just a stain that gets rubbed away.

Only problem with this happening now is that some of the players who have been told they can move on this window will be rubbing their hands in glee , as they can stop around that bit longer with those big pay cheques.
That's it.

They are back in control.

They can relax again and stick their snouts back in the trough....supported by a lot of Everton supporters apparently.

No wonder we're 'kin rubbish.

@davek You act like nobody agrees with you that this problem is bigger than the manager.

I know you like to be a lone ranger but pretty much everybody agrees that the problems run much deeper.

However, firstly we need to start putting points on the board to secure safety.

To do that, the ? had to go as it was evident he was batshit crazy and seems to have had the most epic managerial regression I've witnessed.

Here's a little optimism for you... We're approx 1x solid CB & 1x solid CM away from being able to compete with anybody in this league (bar the top three).

Now we just need a manager that understands it's the year 2022 and that 2x CM's is a recipe for disaster.

Peace.

There are far too many issues within the club to be able to point the blame in one single direction.

Kenwright is a passionate blue but he doesn't have what it takes to lead a top club to success.
Moshiri has plenty of money and has clearly been a successful businessman in his own field but premier league football is very, very different. If he's going to stick around at Everton he needs a board that can guide his spending in the right directing and that's not happening so far.
The players we've had over the last 5 to 10 years haven't been good enough on the whole. We've been lucky to have a few very good players but they've been surrounded by very average or poor players that drag them down. It's hard to show the fight to get in the top 4 when you don't have the talent to get in the top 10.
The managers that have been brought in to the club since Moyes left have all been poor choices. Not one of them has had the personality to bring the changes needed in the club. We need an absolutely ruthless, obsessive control freak that can run the club from top to bottom while having the man management skills to get an extra 20% out of every single player week in, week out. Rafael was certainly never that man.

As a business, Everton football club is an absolute failure at the moment. Improvements need to be made at the very top level before it starts to filter down to pitch level. It has to start with Rafael going in the next 24 hours but that's the tip of the iceberg. The board need to bang their heads together, look at what successful clubs are doing and change the direction of the club.

As far as the next manager goes, I'd give it to Dunc for the rest of the season then set who's available in the summer. We don't need a big name, we don't need a champions league winner, we need someone hungry and passionate. We need stability and we need it quickly.

Been rubbish for 25 years. Again, I’d support them over rubbing my nipples for a Kopite.
