I'd rather we spent the ludicrous amount of money that this weekend has cost on a pay rise for Drs and nurses that apparently we can't afford.

Perhaps, but giving them a slight increase versus cheering up the whole country prior to a bank holiday doesn’t compare. Happiness cures more ills than medication…..
