On the contrary, I do know about 'appropriations in aid of the vote', which is, and has been, the official term for payments into the treasury from well before either you or I was born. So don't try to smart-arse me about the different strands of how the overall economy works. For your simple brain, Government Departments are NOT profit-making organisations. The wheels of state turn so that ALL the mechanisms of the country function. Take away the Government Departments, and all of its ancilliary work, and the country would grind to a halt in pretty quick time. Shareholders & dividends: are they the ones who benefit from the gas/electric companies absolutely scalping the ordinary person in the last 12 months because your Tory Government did jack-[Poor language removed] to prevent massive increases in both, when they could have capped the increases heavily? Yes they are, lining their pockets at the expense of ordinary people and not giving a crap about it in the process while the companies make billions of profit!

I really don’t know why you get so angry. It’s taken you nearly half an hour to come up with this economic illiteracy. Just accept you don’t understand the economy or money generation, relax and enjoy life. This is not some argument you can win by being shouty, political or abusive, it’s simple maths……

I'm not angry - I'm laughing at your idiotic incompetence. You just spout the Tory line all the time about the civil service, NHS, and others (go back and read your posts). You cut a sad, pathetic, figure on here, thinking you know a lot more than you actually do. AND you never directly answer the points that are placed before you, because you have no answer for them in the first place. Your attempt to bamboozle is puerile, and that's being kind!
