The Kit Thread - Season 2021/22

Interesting and reassuring they included Dom, Digne and Godfrey in the reveal vid. No Sigurdson, James or indeed Richy.
Wouldn't read too much into that mate, DCL - first choice striker, dead popular. Digne, been with us for a while now, dead popular. Godfrey's had a really good season, popular, new.
That said, if Sigurdsson had been in it I'd be away to set Everton One on fire lol

Struggling to imagine them designing that kit in the 1800’s, I thought they all just wore plain polo shirts back then.
I think the history behind it is back in the day (1890's) there wasn't really such a thing as a "uniformed" kit, players literally used to bring their own clothes and everyone wore different things. Then someone at Everton (club secretary at the time I think?), had the idea to colour dye everyone's top black so everyone was in the same colour, and then they wore the sash over the top

That's proper nice

So just to recap:

Everton have brought out a "Black Watch" kit that in fact isn't the red sash included in the "Black Watch" kit, but a "burnt orange" sash - and they're putting it on the backs of people from a sectarian scarred city like Liverpool...just when the Northern Ireland situation is getting out of hand again and could be adopted by bigoted and politically and religiously motivated elements.

Please, dont let anyone here say they cant or dont see the ramifications of this ridiculous and disgraceful choice for an Everton kit.

We wore "red" before they were even a thing.

Don't let them try and own a colour. You know what they are like, they will claim anything that's not nailed down as theirs.
Well, I think we can say it isn't red now cant we?

It's actually much worse than that.
