The Kit Thread - Season 2021/22

So just to recap:

Everton have brought out a "Black Watch" kit that in fact isn't the red sash included in the "Black Watch" kit, but a "burnt orange" sash - and they're putting it on the backs of people from a sectarian scarred city like Liverpool...just when the Northern Ireland situation is getting out of hand again and could be adopted by bigoted and politically and religiously motivated elements.

Please, dont let anyone here say they cant or dont see the ramifications of this ridiculous and disgraceful choice for an Everton kit.

The whole politicising of colours is a load of utter tosh. A colour only has political connotations if you want it to have political connotations.

People in Northern Ireland are not suddenly going to become Evertonians. 90% of the people here are United or Reds glory hunters ffs and nothing is out of hand either. I dunno where you are getting your news lol

Just had a little read through the thread, seeing the twists and turns from @davek has been beautiful to witness.

"It's red, disgusting, boo Everton!!"

"Oh, it's not red, well then Everton have cocked up a historical reference, boo Everton"

And now a truly tremendous reach of

"This kit will be adopted as a tool to fuel Northern Ireland tensions, boo Everton"

Outstanding work.

Because the actual photo's of it and club descriptioin of the colour came out in between those two opinions, d'you think?

...other than famous old Amber strip, always more interested in who wears the kit than the kit itself but clearly it does mean a lot to others.

I cant see too many sporting it on the Shankill road Dave. Luckily we've never been a club that has attracted the sectarian elements back home and dont see that changing cos of a black and orange football strip.
Think they get enough from the union jack Rangers kits each year.
Trying to be provocative for the sake of it just stokes the flames.
