I'm a field service engineer for an offshore satellite communications company. Basically I install and maintain phones and internet for ships and rigs. This is the sort of thing we install.....

The worst one I've done was a sat change on a rig off the coast in Denmark. Trying to get it on sat at 3am in 70mph crosswinds and sideways snow was f*cking miserable.

35c sailing down the Suez Canal to Israel (in the pics) was pretty ace though.

Sometimes you get a job where the boat is in the shipyard and you'll stay in a hotel nearby, those are ace. Spent a week in Shanghai before
