Right, so I was busy building away today, happily laying blocks when I got one of the biggest frights I've had in a long time.
A f*cking hornet just landed about a metre away from me, I've never seen one in real life before but they are HUGE! It was about 4 times the size of a wasp with a sting about an inch long, I could see clearly from about 10 metres!
I threw my tools down and ran for it.
Am I just being a horrendous fag or would anyone else be scared of one of these?

I would have started crying then fainted.
I got stung by a black wasp last year and its come up as a wart on my hand where it was stung. Possibly larvae.

I properly gasped in shock and instinct took over. Leg it.
The guy I was working with came back to the site and I was like:
"OH MY GOHD I JUST SAW A HORNET HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A HORNET THEY'RE HUGE IS THE HORNET STILL THERE WHERE IS THE HORNET ?!?!"
And he was just like:
"Oh yeah you don't see them very often but they're pretty big."
Every time I saw another wasp I sh*t myself.

We had hornets nest in one of the lofts last year.
The access is above my lads bed.

Got a favour off a lid I know at Rentokill. Sorted.
They never go back to the same nest apparently.

Good God that's scary!
Yeah it was genuinely a bit frightening, I thought it was a dragonfly at first was that big. I've read that the sting can be incredibly painful, so I gave it a very wide berth!
I'm sure Elong will be on shortly to tell me I'm a woman and that hornets are the size of cats over there or something.
