The Llyn peninsula - Aberdaron

Spent a great weekend in the late 90s partying and surfing in Abersoch. Incredible place. Locals aren’t keen on the English though, or they weren’t in the locals we went in🤣

One of my dads oldest mates owned one of the pubs for years, so we were always sound in the village.

I also went out with a girl from there for a while, so got to know a lot of people my age at the time through her. We all windsurfed, rather than surfed.

Still mates with a few of them.

Having spent so much time there over the years, I fully understand why some of the locals aren’t keen on the tourists, as some of the tourists are very far up their own arses and can be pretty unpleasant.

My dad still has a place there, but I don’t go anymore, as it’s just too expensive now.

To be honest it’s not the run of the mill tourist that upsets the locals, it’s the yuppy Cheshire set who think they own the place when they turn up in their Chelsea tractors towing their speedboats and jet skis, parking all over the place, blocking in driveways and generally being obnoxious loud mouthed arseholes… trearddur bay has an even worse problem as it basically becomes Cheshire-on-sea for the summer

There‘s a house in Abersoch, just off the main beach, which has a heli pad, for the owners two person helicopter- seriously !!!!

My dad often gets hand written letters put through the door of his house, asking him to name the price for it.

He won’t sell to them, as he hates them - like you say, Range Rovers, power boats and jet skis for the kids.
