I can understand why people don't want him back, but I would point to two things. Our expectations in 2008-13 were to break into the top four and at the end of hs reign we were fed up that we couldn't. Now our expectations would be fulfilled if we comfortably get 10 wins in a season.

The second is we were concerned that Moyes will never win anything in his life. He has broken that glass celling, albeit fortuitously. He also took relegation threatened wham and hung onto the coattails of the leading clubs. He is probably a better manager now than he was back then.

What we need is to change the narrative, cancel the noise, stop being a laughing stock and get to a point where a decent manager wants to join us because they can see a way forward to win things, instead of 'if you are willing to pay me that much I'll come'. A few seasons of Davey now wouldn't be like how we felt in year 6 etc. of when he was here first. As long as we are showing progress it should be fine, then we get another manager to take it on, like Martinez did in his first year here. Hopefully they won't be a massive bluffer like Bobby Brown Shoes this time though.
I'm starting to be a believer brother!

I’m hearing word of an emerging new strain, very similar but with an additional symptom where the host insists there is a commonality between not being happy with Moyes re-appointment and the spouses of non hosts having committed adultary / infidelity.

Very troubling and strange times.

Stay alert to stay safe.

Very happy to have Moyes back. Known quantity, will almost certainly keep us up and has done a very good job at nearly every club he has been at. All of the people who talk about accepting mediocrity are immature melts who accept mediocrity every day in their daily lives.

Good news!,
The 'Moyes mind virus' is a debilitating affliction that insidiously creeps into the psyche, gradually lowering expectations and eroding the drive towards excellence.
Looks like your symptoms may be in remission, your drive towards excellence and higher standards will soon lead to a desire for better than Moyes.

Nurse - next patient please.

Did anyone at any stage of your life tell you you are funny? If so they were having you on.

Moyes got us in shape last time. We blew it by botching his replacement(s) and undoing those decent foundations before we could make the next step.

I think getting us in shape is what we need from him this time, too.

Hopefully we get the next manager right this time.
