The new kitchen

I've given up waiting for the household female to do the undercoating so today I did a bit myself (in a fraction of the time I might add).

Also have organised 5 mates (yes, believe it or not I have a few) to come at 7pm tonight to help lift a granite workspace from the old kitchen. Given the bulk density of granite is around 2.7 tonnes per cubic metre I've calculated that the slab is around 150kg. I've also managed to find a buyer if we don’t break it.

For homework you can now calculate the area of the slab, given its thickness of 25mm.
1800x600x25 ?

That was my late night single malt working out so not thinking straight
My morning coffee and toast answer is 2222sq mm
1cu metre = 2700kg
1000÷25=40
2700÷40=67.5kg
Thus 1 slab 25x1000x1000=67.5kg
150÷67.5=2.222

If not, I give up.
Correct. The moral of this story is that coffee is better for the brain than whisky.

I'll not be having any of that nonsense!

BMD will be completed before this kitchen……
The miserable old bat was bemoaning about me having to pressured because I'd listed and sold the existing units (they're being collected next Saturday) before our new one is ready.

The reason the new one isn't ready is that her job, the painting, was started and ground to a halt a fortnight ago. Its holding up the transfer of stuff.

So guess who's doing the painting. Also she's chosen a paint that takes 24 hours to touch dry.

From the household female to miserable old bat in a week.

That poor, poor woman!
