Genuinely, you keep your humour amongst all this, its what makes us what we are, More power to your elbow me ol mucker.
I think we all find it a draw as a thread because deep inside of us there is real empathy for your experiences!
"I will tell a short story of such incident"
moons ago, new tv arrives, i want it on wall, missus not so keen but after strategic visits' to friends who all have wall mounted TV, she says why don't we put ours on wall, 1-0 to me!
She goes out for evening, i trace all pipework and wiring on said wall, marking carefully adjusting my detector accordingly.
spend an hour or so levelling, drilling and finally get Tv and a wall mounted stand for Game and Tv receiver boxes. 2-0 to me very proud!
she returns, admires, walks around a bit, i can see the cogs whirring, she then says
"can you move it a few inches up and to the left?"
"no" i replies, "as you will see from my careful measuring etc there are cables and pipework behind and that is where it fits without interference with these items"
After much toing and froing on her and my behalf, some harsh words exchanged, (along the lines of F u and thats it its a divorce(all over a 48" tv FFS)), begrudgingly is an understatement I agree to try.
I repeat the process for the sake of a 4 inch move left and upwards, I know , i know, 4 inches upwards is quite an improvement, nudge nudge!
I prepare my drill, first hole, ok, second hole, Bang! You knew that was coming............................! Didnt you?
At which point the harsh words exchanged previously were nothing to the string of expletives now pouring from my " I told You So" standpoint. 3 freaking - 0
So anyway after much channelling and jointing of cables restored, re-plaster small area, electrics etc all avoided, Wall Mounting in place TV back on wall and the appreciation from her indoors is virtually zero!
Her request for the extra 4 inches both ways,(insert your own jokes here) actually did improve the overall centrality of the TV, 3-1! I have never told her this!
So you can see, its happened to us all, just not on the scale you have!
