A manager is important.

An organized and agreed upon focus for the club’s academy AND first team is more important. We need a style of play to build from. I don’t care if it’s as simple as defend and counter so long as we do it well and develop and buy players suited for it.
Not sure a style of play is the primacy and something to build around.
That's the type of thing that requires Man City sort of money and or a Barca Cruyff type legacy.
If Everton are going to develop a style of play it's going to have to come organically.
The best thing is to get in a top quality manager who can shape a style of play based on the squad of players he's got. Style shouldn't be imposed.
A Carlo type rather than a contemporary coach graduate like Southgate.

The biggest disappointment for me with Dyche is he was actually getting a good turn out of the team based on the players.
It may not have been a great style, or he'd fashioned a silk purse, but Everton were difficult to beat, a far cry from the unholy trinity of sig, schneid and gomes.
While treading mud, this season seemed obvious, keep going with the same thing and upgrade players in key positions.

But Dyche seems to have dropped the ball on his own project, his way to get the best out of the team from player available.

The no.10 has been baffling and a case in point. An improvement here given everything else equal, would surely have seen more opportunities capitalised on and overall better attacking play, compared to last season.
Ie continue to keep it tight and hard to beat (Doucs is underrated at this), do the same thing like, just upgrade the possession/attacking.

Imo Tim seems ideally suited, especially as Ndiaye is excelling out wide.
McNeill - wtf.

I'm questioning whether Dyche should go or be given the chance to sort it.
A new coach coming in and opening play up without new signings (esp R and L back) could be a disaster. Or same with a top coach used to better quality. Mourinho would relegate this team.

Not a chance you can compare them, one got us to consecutive top 6’s and regularly in Europe, and one couldn’t even achieve what Martinez did with us, and his Everton tenure is closer to Allardyce in comparison.
Just like styles make fights, managers all have different qualities. For a club in our position there aren’t really any who have done as good as job as Moyes over a prolonged period.

A three year building period where Moyes lays some foundations would be good for the club. Then you get someone in who can build on the stability and push it forward.

3 years of Moyes . I hope I go into a coma If that happens.
Have some ambition !

He can't as he is schooled on Moyes/Kenwright era Everton and knows his place so is obsessed with the likes of Moyes, sad to see really.

He has a point, the club needs building and recovering, very few managers can do that Moyes is one.

Graham Potter isn’t coming in here and brining in 13 signings and it’s working.

Sure you can do the DOF thing - but we know better then most the pitfalls of that also.

Would I trust Moyes to brung in 13 players and build a team, defo.

The recovery of this club will be incremental, step 1 is stability.

He doesn't and neither do you, both of you are stuck in the past clinging onto, well I don't know really. Let me point out one MASSIVE red flag with Moyes first off (there are plenty more) Strikers. This club has struggled for years with them and we can't seem to find a decent one either to buy. Well David Moyes certainly isn't going to solve that. the money he wasted on Haller and Scamacca then completely misused both of them. Over £300m was spent at West Ham and he ended up using a group of about 13/14 players, massive money was wasted there, he also largely ignored the academy setup. The game has moved on and Moyes hasn't imo, I wouldn't trust him to build anything because I don't think he can anymore hence in the end they brought a sporting director in.

It’s direction of travel though .
I don’t want the team to be developed to follow the Moyes blueprint.
I would prefer to develop in a more attacking direction , with an emphasis on seeking victory.
A more attacking and proactive style than Moyes employs.

But what you neglect to say is he took West Ham, from relegation candidates to 1. Europe to 2. European Trophey - in the last three years - I wish football passed us by like that.

You can micro analyse variables - but ultimately all that matters is outcome. I’d be really disappointed with someone like Jarod Bowen for sure.

He repeated what he did here, there and built WHU as a football club - just watch them disintegrate now.

To many react on here to public persona as opposed to actual skill and competency.

You want to keep Dyche . But if he did go you'd replace him with Moyes .
Talk about stagnation . Forget trying to move on.. we are happy to stand still
