Up to the right on that photo was the library (recently closed and sold at auction with seemingly nothing happening to it).

The library has got restrictions on its use mate. ( it's a grade one listed Georgian building )

It was bought very cheaply ( 200k ) by a property developer who is looking to overturn the restrictions on its use and turn it into a private house.

this is where I first learnt to swim although living miles away it had a good reputation to learn to swim!

Once the " committee " involved get their arses in gear mate, it'll be reopening. The problem, is that the man who heads up the committee is one of the biggest knobheads on the planet and he's what's holding it up.

People offered to run it as volunteers on a limited hours basis if the council would fund the upkeep.

Due to land and property in South Liverpool being the cash cow for this council it was never going to happen.

They want this sell the council offices ( mansion house ) in Calderstones park for flats and also flatten the riding school for disabled and miniature railway for more Redrow identikit houses.

The whiff of corruption in the 80's hangs heavy in the air.

Pictures of Probe took me back to the Stadium. Any more survivors?

Is that the stadium where they used to have the boxing.
I don't remember it but I know my father had a few fights there, quite a few actually.
