Rather a Hot dog than a pastie.
Who's with me?!
THE good pastie guide.
as part of pastry awareness week i thought it would be a good idea to pass on locations of top bakeries so that members need never be without a wholesome feed.
today i was in WESTHOUGHTON which isnt far from the reebok stadium, at the end of the street was a tempting little bakery called PRICES BAKERY, i enquired a to the quality of the fayre available and was given a resounding thumbs up, with the bloke saying "i'm from wigan so it was important to have a decent pie-shop at hand.
i purchased 2 standard meat & pot. pasties 80p each and can report that they were tremendous. well worth visiting if in the area.
----------------------------------------------------------------
just been in that area again so paid them another visit, just to keep them on their toes as a kind of mystery shopper.
went in at 13:40 and they had stuff just out of the oven, got a pasty again and a sausage roll £1.40. pastie was delightful and just the right temp. sausage roll was also top notch with a good sausage filling and pastry that wasnt greasy and didnt unwrap itself whilst being consumed.
Prices Bakery, Westhoughton.......you pass the test.
My God boys........
I was at the Sayers on County Rd before the game and guess what..????
They had Chilli Pasties......
They said there on only for a short time they they will be stoped again. So get them while you can..
As for rating....
10/10...... Yum,yum.
ffs, i told you all that the other week when you were all on about it.
come on sayers.... don't be daft now, don't be silly, don't take away our lovely chilli.
i have been in the vacinity of this establishment again today and had a meat 'n' potato pastie and a 'meat pastie' which had the filling of a meat pie in, £1.50 the pair.
Riight. Time to fire up this badboy again.
Bought a pasty on Saturday. I wasn't expecting much, seeing as it was from Warren's, but it was rather good actually. Crust was of a desirable texture, fillings ticked all the boxes, and it was big enough so that couldn't fit it all in my mouth.
And there was a rather nice girl serving me from behind the counter. Made me go a bit weak at the knees. Could only stutter up a thanks, without my customary "cheers babe" and a wink to go with it.
That sounds amazing.
Price's pasties are big news round Bolton. My mrs used to work at the theatre next door to one and I used to insist on her bring me a selection home every now and then.
Prices meat and potato - traditional 'cornish' style design (none of this slice business), packed with well seasoned, peppery filling. Nice chunks of meat and a surprising lack of gristle. Good effort
B+
I'm sticking to my cucumber sandwiches. Pasties are for wools.
Aren't cucumber sandwiches for those who like to dress up in the opposite sexes clothes?
No mate you seem a little confused yourself.
