bearing a motto that i think may get adopted by someone.

i agree, tastes like piss, so do most aussie beers from what i have tasted.

The Aussies make some fine beers but the stuff they sell over here is mostly [Poor language removed], if you drink what the locals drink you can never normally go far wrong. Ignore anyone who recommends XXXX though, they're talking bollocks :)

Following up from my Chicken Tikka pastie rating...

I went into sayers today to find they were out of everything in normal size, they only had jumbo left in everything! (n)(n)(n)

So i had to fork out a disgustingly huge sum of £1.50 for my lunch.

However, I soon forgot about the price when consuming this fine delicacy! (y)(y)

I had 1 of those bacon egg & sausage pasties the other day, it tasted lovely & although I had a huge bit of fat on 1 of the pieces of bacon, I'd recommend it. Not as nice as the steak slice though

THE good pastie guide.
as part of pastry awareness week i thought it would be a good idea to pass on locations of top bakeries so that members need never be without a wholesome feed.

today i was in WESTHOUGHTON which isnt far from the reebok stadium, at the end of the street was a tempting little bakery called PRICES BAKERY, i enquired a to the quality of the fayre available and was given a resounding thumbs up, with the bloke saying "i'm from wigan so it was important to have a decent pie-shop at hand.

i purchased 2 standard meat & pot. pasties 80p each and can report that they were tremendous. well worth visiting if in the area.

----------------------------------------------------------------

just been in that area again so paid them another visit, just to keep them on their toes as a kind of mystery shopper.
went in at 13:40 and they had stuff just out of the oven, got a pasty again and a sausage roll £1.40. pastie was delightful and just the right temp. sausage roll was also top notch with a good sausage filling and pastry that wasnt greasy and didnt unwrap itself whilst being consumed.

Prices Bakery, Westhoughton.......you pass the test.
