The 'Post Funny stuff' Thread

I ditched ink jets a few years back. Stupid running costs. I figured if I liked a photo enough to print I'd go to boots or somewhere like that with a USB stick. I haven't gone yet as I look at photos on screen.
I bought a cheap b&w laser printer instead and its been faultless. Toner replacement about a tenner on ebay. Toner doesn't dry up and I've had to buy 1 refill in about 6 years.

Couple of years ago I nabbed a colour laser going free on Facebook from a local business. It was free because it printed lines in the background all down the page. After a bit of research I learned it was down to damage of the imaging unit (a set of 4 drums). After sitting on it fir a couple of years I bit the bullet and ordered the replacement part at a cool £180. Now it works faultlessly and photo output is damn nearly as good as my Epson bubble jet used to be - after all it was over £850 to buy new. The major reason I paid 180 for the part is that a full set of 3 colour and black toners from ebay is £11. This is the advantage of getting a business machine as opposed to a cheap one aimed at the sucker .... sorry .... domestic market. A similar set of colour toners for a cheap domestic printer comes in over £100!
I'd love to pick up a laser printer. They're so more ecomical v ink jets.

Back in a previous life, I used to work for a cartridge refill company. If you ever get any lines on your paper and you think it's coming from the toner cartridge, get a lint free cloth and rub the drum in cartridge down. Just make sure you do it in a room with no sunlight.

Believe me I tried everything before lashing 180 on a new unit!
