My ex boss from UK said:

"Don't wear brown in town'.

So i bought a couple of pairs of brown shoes and wore them everyday.

Dont bother with black shoes anymore...just get a local "shoe tailor" to make mine and works out as better quality than the £1500 options.

As long as youre confident and sharp then you can pass interviews in finance.
You'd spend £1,500 on a pair of shoes?

Didn't even know £1500 brown work shoes existed.

They must see you coming if you spend £1,500 on a pair of shoes.
I've written and deleted many, many responses to this, but the overriding thought is the same:

HOW MUCH?!?!?!?!?

I'm agog. Gee whizz......

lol i did say mine cost about 25000 php (about £400 before brexit) and my shoemaker copies the expensive ones...identical to what i wanted but tailored to my feet so ultra confy.

Problem with living in asia is their tiny feet...so either buy online (no chance!) or ask the store to import (£300+++) or get a shoemaker.

My feet kill me wearing standard shoes and feet are really important just like your back.

So how are they tailored to your feet? Do they completely follow the contours of said feet?

They take measurements in various places for each foot and then basically create a mould with a machine...you then try on the shoe and they make adjustments all over. Took me 3 or 4 goes....the weaves in mine and all else are done by hand.

Then they attach the sole etc

I see.

Hand stitched on the thighs of virgins?

By 'bankers' do you mean those in the high street or front office in investment banks?
Can we just make the distinction right now between 'bankers', and those who 'work in the banking industry'. The former make up about 0.01% of the latter, and are the baddies in all of this. Us in the latter are just trying to make a living.

I don't remember being taught any of those things at school, but lets assume that you're right, then we have no problem as the free schooling that's available to all covers the most important skills for employability, right?

Like I've put a few times here, I don't think it has much to do with what you actually learn in the schools when it comes to state vs public school success. What is it about an expensive private school, say Eton, which increases your chances of being in a highly influential job?
