..watched a documentary this week, US joined the war late and sent the Black only regiments into fight first alongside the French whilst the white regiments were held back for training. Amazing that such things happened only 100 years ago.

Yeah the USA continued segregation on the WW1 front line, the only nation to do so I believe.

No one who knows history should be surprised by this. The greatest canard ever conjured, is that the USA is land of the equal. It never was...never will be.

The USSR, toward the end of its extant, was described as being 'a third rate nation, with first rate weapons'...
