If they do get him for 6 months then fine
Yeah, let's all be real here: if he's the appointment, then the quality of that decision basically comes down to the length of the contract. If they can swing a 6-month one, then this seems like a no-brainer. Guy who would almost certainly keep us up, plenty of experience with the league, the club, etc. etc.

And that leaves everything open for the complete rebuild project that I'm sure they have in mind for the summer, with half the squad gone, new stadium, new manager, maybe new DOF, etc. etc.

If it's 18 months or longer, wouldn't love that at all.

Can we save all the bedwetting until we at least find out that much?

This from a United fan I knew back in the day when when he was dicking around there

It's a short term deal for god sake, stop cryarsing.

It's the middle of the season so options are limited.

PL survival is key going into the stadium and am confident Moyes will keep us in the division.

We're here because Stone Cold Sore Throat is completely incompetent at the football thingy and now the situations need rescuing.

So lets all put out big boys undies on and suck it up for a couple months.

Bunch of farts.

I find it a shame that so many don’t care about loyalty. If anyone leaves the club under bad circumstances there’s no coming back for me. Have a bit of pride ffs. That seems the way these days though. I get that. The excitement over Romney’s return after being crap at Utd for 2 or 3 years, Landon Donavon on a legends flag, praying for the return of Richarlison. All after effects of a fan base largely brought up by Kenwright.
Moyes left for the biggest job opening in football, possibly ever.
And he was with us for 11 years.

I can excuse him leaving and would be mostly happy to see him back

In their history they have never had a problem so far either pulling the plug on a manager or offering a short term stop gap manager contract.

Don't want Moyes, but I'll say one thing now, we won't go down with him either.

A contract till the end of the season I can just about stomach and in a strange way him being in charge the last game at Goodison and being binned before the first game at BMD would mind of give final closure over the entire Kenwright era and out the Moyes back to Everton stories in the rear view

I think this is fair.

I'm sure there will be lots of understandably emotional responses if he returns. Some nostalgia, some anger etc.

There are positives and negatives. Id say he's a guy in the short term who can probably get a better balance between attack/defence.

I quite liked Potter, but there's definitely a world where Potter cocks it up short term.

Dyche left the owners no choice. It was life-force draining watching them play. Can’t score. Odds were not looking in our favour. Something had to be done to stop the ship from sinking. Moyes was the best option available right now. It gives us a better chance to score with new formations and players. It has to. If Moyes has McNeil back and plays Illy in the middle with DCL, even with Harrison on the right, that is something many have been wanting Dyche to do. I support him and I’m ready to move forward. And by forward, I mean up the pitch with the ball into the goal.

Coufal, Soucek, Benrahma, Bowen, Paqueta all signed with Moyes at West Ham. Four of them hardly big names, the first two virtually utter unknowns who did a great job for them, especially Soucek. We need a bit of that to stabilise us.
